"The most shocking and rude, obnoxious, threatening behaviour from the new Landlord tonight. We arrived at 8.35pm and ordered drinks, asked was they still serving pizza and was told “yes” we ordered at 8.45pm and was told it piled be 15 minutes wait. No problem we said and thanked the staff for sorting out our food, we were very grateful. At 9.25pm a :ember I’d staff came over to inform us that they didn’t have any flat mushrooms left, did we want some other mushrooms on our pizza, we said no thanks, we would just like to get a refu; as it has been passed 40 minutes now since we ordered. My husband went over to the bar to get a refund on his card, the landlord came over, became extremely rude to my husband, got in his face and was showing aggressive body language to my husband, I immediately got up and went over to ask why he was behaving aggressively towards my husband…wow oh wow, he became aggressive and began shouting at us both. The landlord took himself outside . Once he had returned to the pub we asked the landlady for an explanation for his aggressive behaviour towards us, she was just as rude!!!!, DEFINATELY DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COUPLE OF NEW LANDLORDS!!!!! We only called in for a quick pint and a pizza and came away feeling completely shocked at how locals/returning customers have been treated at our local pub."

Called in for a one off tea, wasn't the best but not the worst. Somewhere in the middle would be a fair review.

Me and my Mum ate here recently, food was delicious. Especially the Black Pudding Small plate the cheese and onion pie! All staff was friendly and efficient. However Liam in particular went above and beyond. He is so lovely and well mannered. Really made us feel welcome. Will definitely be returning.

First time coming today and won't be returning! Ordered 2 Sunday lunches , 1 turkey and 1 beef. Asked for the gravy to be on side for beef. Sat chatting and server came over and asked if we would like mint sauce with our meals (err no we aren't having lamb ? Maybe just us) meals arrived quickly but beef meal was slathered in gravy even though requested side. Mentioned to server who just said oh and walked off, Gravy was not to my taste as antipicated which is why asked for on side. Gravy was very gelatinous as if yesterday's left overs and veg was soggy beyond belief even though we were there for opening. Staff too busy chatting and not paying attention to guests but when they did notice gue...

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
