Fantastic meal. Popped on here for quick pint and fish and chips. Very impressed with the pub food and friendly staff. Well done all

The pub is lovely, food and drinks are very nice. Just two issues, 1) seem unable to serve a pint of real ale, always has an inch of froth collar and 2) do not accept cash. Why?

Visited pub today with a walking party after a lovely walk around Maulden had lunch at The George inn. We had a reserved table in the Garden Room which is lovely even though the pub was very busy the service was excellent the food very good evident by everyone’s plate been empty at the end. Definitely recommend this pub

What a place to stay, the staff were amazing and had such a welcome and couldn’t do enough for you. Ola the manager was so helpful and a great front of house host. Rooms were immaculate and well presented with no expense spared. Absolutely chuffed with my stay and would highly recommend the George Inn. Also food was superb

Came for Sunday roast at 5.45 pm not really expecting too much as the kitchen closes at 6 pm on Sunday, and as a rule, last roasts of the day aren’t the best. We were delighted with the duck and chicken roast, gorgeous home made Yorkshire, crispy potatoes and fresh veggies. Well done team ! Front of house staff were lovely Georgie served us and as always, is friendly, Professional and made sure we had everything we needed.

Just been for lunch. Service friendly. Menu would cater for most tastes. Wine list short, but varied enough to match the food served although the addition of dessert wine, even by the glass, might lift the end of the meal. (Monbazillac, Loupiac or Cerons are nice and are a bit more affordable than Sauternes). Would have been a 5 stars only the balsamic vinegar used with the olive oil as a dip for bread was from the cheaper/sour end of the spectrum.

when we first arrived on the afternoon, they were lined, but by a small table in the winter garden we felt was not really suitable for a Sunday dinner for 6 adult it was cool / caught, we asked to go into the big room with a roaring log burner that the girl did fast and explained, she needs table a little later, so I suppose they were booking others? However, the meal was fabulous and served in very timely warning the yorkshire pudding could be an appetizer on its own faust the bark was nicely cooked, as the veg. desert were also beautiful, all round we felt a beautiful place with a large family ambiente. we will certainly be back, thank you

We booked to eat here while staying at nearby Center Parcs. We ate on a Saturday night and there was also a wedding on, so the place was very busy. It took a while for us to get to order, and even longer to wait for our drinks and food. We also had to go looking for someone to take our dessert order and to get the bill. The food itself was good, the drinks were fine but very expensive. Then when we finally got the bill, it already had a 10% service charge added which I dont like, esp as the service was so slow. We just paid it as the staff were doing their best with it being so busy. But there shouldnt be a service charge....the prices here are more than high enough to enable the owners to p...

We stayed a second time here for a family meal and for the Thursday Pub Quiz. The accommodation is clean, comfortable, warm, welcoming, well equipped with a walk-in shower and a relaxing bed to sleep on. It has a Nespresso coffee machine , bottled water and tea making equipment. Also some breakfast items as at present the pub does not do its own breakfast offer. The staff could not be more helpful, thoughtful, welcoming , both at the accommodation procedures and particularly in the pub itself providing top quality service for food and drink.
