"We were slogging along the Welsh Borders on our way to a more distant than expected B and decided that we needed to stop to eat. We happened upon the George and Dragon and it looked OK . I couldn 't describe the initial welcome as warm but we were tired. It felt like a traditional pub even down to the gents being out at the back! (The ladies was inside, though. It was quiet when we arrived and we were put into a dark but cosy little room at the smaller bar; it must be lovely when the stove is lit. The food was excellent. It was produced quickly and tasted home made. It was friendly once we were settled in for eating (and less tired ourselves and we were able to chat with the kitchen staff. I can heartily recommend it, it was just what we needed. It may look a bit unprepossessing at first sight but there is a good range of drinks and a good range of well cooked food, what more can you ask?"

Everything here was quite good. Food was hot, plentiful and very tasty. Had a brownie sundae for dessert which was incredible.

The service was good and prices reasonable. The food though wasn’t great and very mixed in quality. Nice chips and burger was good but fish was frozen and lasagne was very dry and bland. Voir le carte

Wooden-floored pub! Arrived at about 2050...just before they stopped serving. Still agreed to sort us out even though we hadn 't booked. Superb dishes ...lamb and steak. Felt 'looked after ' ...lovely evening. Gorgeous food.

Having enjoyed a lovely meal at the Banc with Family, we decided to pop next door and watch the football (Man Utd v PSG) as we entered we were greeted by a few locals and to our horror on the big screen Nottingham Forest v West Brom)

Friendly welcoming traditional pub. Staff very helpful. Really nice Sunday roast, cooked just right and good portions. Really good price. Though busy they managed to serve 4 of us without having booked. I would recommend to friends and family. Voir le carte

We went for a Sunday carvery lunch today and I can honestly say that it’s the best I’ve ever had. The food was hot, plentiful and delicious and the puddings were divine! The service was fast and efficient too and the staff are SO friendly! We will definitely be back!

Very freindly. Lovely people, lovely décor, clean, lovely food, lovely service...will be coming back and recommend. Only problem, which we didn't report as wasn't major issue, was Shower had no power and fluctuated from hot to cold and I'm sure they would of fixed it if we'd of said. To be honest had such a lovely time we forgot..Xxx
