"The menus we received were different from what we had seen online, offering quite limited options. Most of us opted for the Sunday roast—two chose beef, two opted for pork loin with crackling and apple sauce, and one went for fish and chips. It took about 20 minutes for someone to come take our orders, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy at the time. While waiting for our food, we ordered another pint and a coke; the pint arrived, but the coke did not. After a long wait of an hour, our food finally arrived, and I wish I could say it was worth it. The fish and chips were disappointing; the fish was served on a mere 14 tiny chips. The roast beef looked appealing, but it came with an onion chutney that wasn't mentioned on the menu, ruining the meal for one of our party. The pork loin with crackling turned out to be a burnt pork chop, accompanied by three dry, small roast potatoes, a smear of mash, an undercooked long carrot, and some bland greens. Honestly, it felt like some of the food was frozen, especially the chips. Charging £17 each for the pork roast (essentially a pork chop) and fish with a handful of frozen chips, as well as £18 for the roast beef, felt like a complete rip-off. Safe to say, we won’t be returning."

A quintessential countryside pub with a crackling fire, comfortable seating, and locals enjoying drinks at the bar—it's the perfect way to wind down after a long day. Plus, you'll find all sorts of dogs here. Atmosphere: 5/5. Voir le carte

We enjoyed a high-quality Sunday lunch that exceeded our expectations with a wider variety of options than what was available on the online menu. Since we had a small dog with us, we opted to sit in the bar area, which was perfectly fine. The dishes we tried, including the mushroom tagliatelle, blue cheese gnocchi, chicken and chorizo pie, and cheeseburger, were all excellent. The waitress was incredibly helpful and considerate, doing her best to ensure that everything was just right. Overall, I rate the food a solid 5 out of 5.

My friend and I went for Sunday lunch, and the usual chef was away. We ordered the beef roast. As much as the meal went, the beef was lovely, plentiful. The roast potatoes were the size of the top of my thumb, and 5 of them ! Vegetables were delicious, sprouting broccoli and carrots. The Yorkshire pudding was OK. But, no mash, no boiled. The meal was lacking, and as if they had ran out of potatoes. I decided to have a pudding, I chose Apple Strudle, although the bowl and the custard was nuked by microwave. The struddle was cold..however they changed for fresh peice of Strudle and it was hot. The staff were attentive, pleasant and I guess they have had better days and I will go again when the...

"Pre booked a table online as I wanted the table for a family retirement meal for my Mum, added into the comments a request to have a couple of bottles of fizz and sharing dessert for our party (which nobody acknowledged), I called a couple of days before to arrange this and pay upfront, I was told we would have two bottles of fizz and 6 glasses ready for us on the table on arrival we didn 't why? Awkward as then the waitress is coming over asking what we want to order to drink I was planning on surprising my Mum with the fizz. Sharing dessert I 'm not sure if there was a miscommunication between us as when it arrived after the meal I 'd question how many people were sharing the dessert. I 've been to the Farmers plenty over the years for food and it 's always been pretty decent, it 's always a good atmosphere etc. Unfortunately on this occasion the food was pretty poor. Two of us ordered the 'tandoori ' chicken kebabs so bland, I 'd question whether the chicken had ever seen any sort of marinade/spice mix. Rice was tasteless and there was a pitiful number of chips for a 'half half ' portion. Mussels again commented on the portion of chips served on the side tight. Fish dish was small but aren 't they always and the Cajun chicken and brisket meals were fine. A shame overall as like I said it 's always a good atmosphere and it is a nice place interior wise. I wouldn 't rush back unfortunately."
