"Confused, we approached the man we had spoken to on the phone, hoping for some assistance—or at the very least, an apology for the misinformation. Instead, we were met with indifference and rudeness. He casually informed us that they were fully booked, as if we hadn’t just called and received the opposite assurance. When we expressed our frustration and disappointment, seeking a resolution, he simply turned his back on us. This was a clear display of disrespect and unprofessionalism. We were left standing there, feeling humiliated and frustrated, as he moved on to attend to other customers, completely ignoring the situation we were in. The lack of accountability and sheer rudeness was shocking. Not only did this establishment waste our time, but they also showed a complete disregard for their customers. It would have been fair and professional to inform us that there was a chance we might not get a table, instead of making false promises and leaving us stranded. I am appalled by the lack of customer service and basic decency displayed by the staff at this place. It's evident that they do not value their customers or care about delivering a good experience. I strongly advise against visiting this establishment unless you want to be disrespected and left feeling frustrated."

I stopped by for an evening meal and had the best cod loin I've ever tasted. It was cooked perfectly and served with a light cauliflower puree, mussels, and samphire. Thank you—it was a much-appreciated meal after a rainy day exploring beautiful castles. Voir le carte

Did not stay at the hotel. Often come here as our favourite place to eat in Conwy. Can get busy at times, have had a lovely lunch and dinner here. Great local beer, good nonalcoholic drinks for those who need it, and tasty local food thoughtfully made with good portions. Really solid place to go. Do make reservations if you need to eat in the dining room! I think it's also dog-friendly which is useful if you have a furry friend! Patio is really nice when it's sunny out as well. My wife and I recently stayed at the Erskine Arms, and we had an excellent experience. Here’s why: it's centrally located in the heart of Conwy, a historic city that is perfect for exploring not only its medieval attractions but also the wider region of North Wales. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the rooms are impeccably clean, as is the hotel overall. The quality of the food is exceptional; we enjoyed two evening meals there during our three-night stay! A top tip: be sure to reserve a table in advance! We've stayed in many hotels, and this one is definitely among our top favorites – it truly deserves five stars!

I did encounter some minor issues during my visits, which is why I'm giving it a 4-star rating. They apparently don't serve cocktails, at least not the ones I requested. Recently, I asked for an Espresso Martini, and the bartender politely declined, saying they don’t make cocktails. Fair enough, so I opted for a pint instead. However, the next day when my wife asked for an Aperol Spritz, they promptly made it for her. To me, an Aperol Spritz is still a cocktail. I wouldn’t mind if I had asked for something more obscure, but an Espresso Martini is hardly in the same league as a Sex on the Beach! On our last visit, we walked by the pub and peeked inside to check for seating. It didn’t look bu...

"Whenever I get the inclination to write a review it’s usually because it’s so good and I want to shout about my experience to everyone… however this is not my usual 5* recommendation! As locals we have visited this cafe on a few occasions for breakfast or a coffee stop. It’s a great location, nice decor, dog friendly and delicious food. What’s not to like? Well, the staff, or more specifically the owner! She lacks any customer service skills, she smiles through gritted teeth, orders her staff around while she stands observing (or waiting for an argument . Each time we’ve visited she’s had an issue with something. Once she argued with me because I asked for my latte to be served in a cup rather than a tall glass. She proceeded to try and educate me on coffee making (I’m barista trained ! She reluctantly gave me it to me in a mug with a jug of extra milk which wouldn’t fit into the mug anyway! More recently we arrived, it was quiet, and chose to sit in the window (the largest table as we had our dog and didn’t want him to be in the way. She rushed over and demanded we sat at another table because she “couldn’t afford for us to take up a larger table”. We moved without an issue but she was very confrontational (as always and made the rest of our dining experience uncomfortable. So uncomfortable in fact that despite being ravenous we almost didn’t order. The cafe remained quiet throughout our time there, plenty of empty tables and yet she proceeded to use the larger window table to accommodate her staff, herself and a friend who popped in. How is that fair? So my advice to you as a fellow catering/ hospitality manager is… Learn from your Trip Advisor feedback, Book yourself on a free customer service course and lead by example and if you are worried about costs reduce the number of staff. 5 staff on duty in a cafe that seats approx 25 people at full capacity is not needed. Maybe the owner should put her feet up at home and let the lovely younger people do their thing. They all look so nervous around her and are almost too afraid to speak. I’m sure they’d do a far better job without her monitoring their every move. Even the Chef (her husband maybe? looks petrified of her!! Certain people are not cut out for customer facing roles and she is one of them! I’m pretty sure she doesn’t read any of these reviews as she’s been like this since my first visit 5 years ago!! What a shame. This place could be a thriving business and a welcoming village cafe but I’m sure her confrontational attitude and unwelcoming nature put people off from returning. Such a shame as the food and coffee are delightful"
