Beautiful gastropub in a stunning location. However, on the pricier side with a gin and tonic and a pint costing almost £17.

We only visited for lunch, so I can't speak to the rooms, but we had a wonderful afternoon at this restaurant with delicious food and drinks. This restaurant is a disappointment. It is located in Ambleside and is highly recommended by the rough guide. However, the service is extremely slow and the bartender cannot even make simple items like fish and chips, a J20 drink, or a coffee. I would not recommend making the effort to travel to this place as it seems like they do not care about their customers or their business.

I have stayed at this restaurant three times in the past few months and the food has been consistently excellent each time. Whether dining with family or friends, the quality is always there. The restaurant is in a country inn with a charming style and beautiful views of the countryside. The welcoming atmosphere, complete with a cozy log fire and friendly staff, creates a relaxed dining experience. The A team has done a fantastic job. Overall, the rooms and service both deserve a rating of 5 out of 5.
