"This place truly embodies the summer vibe. The food is fantastic, the prices are reasonable, and the service is outstanding. MAKE SURE TO TRY THE DONUTS!!! For vegetarians, the donuts we had were suitable. It's also a great environment for kids and families, with an added bonus of a 9-hole crazy golf area! Wheelchair users will find it easily accessible as it's conveniently located just off the sidewalk. Service is available for dining in."

What a fantastic restaurant! It's filled with delightful treats all in one location. The service is excellent and friendly. The charming little huts and pods are beautifully decorated, showing great attention to detail. The atmosphere is wonderful. Highly recommended! "We visited Bellamy's Bistro 2 weeks ago. If having a meal after 6pm there is parking on the main Street for free. We managed to get an earlier ferry across to the island and after contacting Bellamy's, staff very kindly brought the time of our table forward. Me and one friend had the carbonara and cheesy garlic bread, which was lovely and tasty and my other friend had Bourgenon which she also really enjoyed. The owners were very friendly and were talking to us about how they came to the Isle of Wight. I would definitely recommend."

"After we read reviews, we thought this was the place for fish and chips. it's not. the warning signs were there – you could not even see the friteer or the fish and chip counter. essentially this is a caffe with cafe-style eating - not right. fish and chips. we ordered fish and chips x2 and sat on a bank to look over the sea, in the ground eating over boiled broken fish - clearly not caught locally and of chips deep fat broken- non-traditional chips. very disappointing lunch with a view of the sea."

"We had been hunting around for a alternative location for a superb cream tea after reading that Chessel Pottery has gone very much downhill and no longer makes the cream teas it was famous for. Lady Scarlett’s has an incredible record of top scores, which we’re now extremely suspicious of. We phoned ahead to check for availability and although the person on the phone wasn’t rude, they made us feel we’d possibly made a bad choice with their attitude on the phone. You can’t judge a book by its cover, but when we arrived at the place, we wondered if it was really the right place. Sadly it was. Not very inviting and seemed a bit too rough around the edges, despite the ‘World War period’ theme. When we entered, a grumpy man (possibly the owner) was there observing people coming in, although very few people were coming in (a big sign of bad things). When we mentioned issues parking, he told us that there’s lots of parking in Newport. This location is nowhere near that, so we assume we were being told to go elsewhere if we didn’t like it! Lovely! The place was empty whilst others were full, so there’s a hint! We left without ordering anything. An unpleasant experience."

"My wife and I have visited all of the Character Inns on the island and in each the staff have been very friendly. The Caulkheads is no exception, though this is our least favourite of the group. Despite being the nearest geographically to where we live on the island. It is perhaps because we have visited at quieter times, in winter, when the pub was still rather cold, that it has seemed less inspiring. Though admittedly, we have been disappointed by the food here too, which arrived slowly and less warm than I would have liked. perhaps again, due to being during colder weather, more difficult to keep hot. We haven't given up on The Caulkheads, we will try another visit sometime, perhaps in the Summer months."

"Stopped for a cream tea which the wife enjoyed. Usual 2 scones provided with jam and clotted cream and a good pot of tea. They normally do Gluten Free cream tea but due to high demand had sold out of GF scones. They were however able to supply GF cheese scones so I had a savoury version of cream tea, 2 GF cheese scones, a tomato chutney and a cream cheese. Was very nice and would recommend."
