Very very disappointed that oaps have to get a full meal. My dad eats less than a child but is not allowed a kids meal! This needs to change!

Main meal disappointing and expensive for a mediocre meal. Desert lovely. Service slow. No atmosphere in the area where we were sat. Cant recommend

I asked for a children’s meal upgrading to an adult portion. A simple chicken nuggets, chips and beans. I was told this would be more money, which I completely understand. However, when I was told it would be £16.95 I decided to get the Sunday roast for £12.50. Shocking price for a simple meal. Voir le carte

Wanted a catch up with some friends and they suggested this pub A few negative comments but we found it it to be really a nice place serving decent food One of our party was gluten free and no problem with that The food was lovely and the servers really freindly All in in all a very pleasant lunch to catch up with our friends

Excellent food except for one dish. Slow service it was nearly an hour before the food arrived (that is, an hour after arrival . The dish which disappointed was grouse. Indeed. It was tough almost impossible to slice meat from the bone I managed eventually to sever 5 tiny slices. Impossible to extract more. (Yes, I had a steak knife. It was also undercooked some bright red meat. Therefore at over £17 it was greatly overpriced. I should have sent it back, but what could they have done to redeem it? The rest of the meal was fine particularly the crisp belly pork.

The main meals were excellent mushroom pie with chips and Sunday roast, yummy. The desserts were a bit of a let down as the custard was weak and the portions small. The lattes were weak and not worth paying for! This would have scored higher if it wasn't for the toilets though! The men's toilets were a disgrace, the floor was covered in pee and stunk, the ladies also smelt and reading the reviews, this problem goes back years and should have been sorted well before now. If the toilets are this bad, the worry is what the kitchen is like. This used to be the place to go, no longer so.... Voir le carte

This pub is fantastic! The atmosphere is super cozy and the decor is quirky. We visited at the start of our vacation because we were staying nearby, and the experience was so good that we had to come back again! The food was delicious, especially the Beef and Potato pie and the Timothy Taylor Battered Haddock and Chips. The pub itself is charming, located in a lovely countryside setting and decorated tastefully. The staff were incredibly hospitable and friendly. They also welcome dogs, providing water and even offering A Doggy Dish with sausages and gravy for £2. I have never seen a pub offer something like that before! Food and service has gone down hill. Owner waited on our table and was happy to serve burnt (to a crisp) halloumi fries. Fish special was like hot water soup which tasted disgusting- no one asked how our meal was, the fish dish was completely left, again when clearing plates, no one asked how our meal was. As it was a special occasion we didn’t make a fuss, paid and left. The next day we checked the receipt to divvy the cost up between couples and noticed we’d been charged for drinks that were not ours. We were travelling and decided to have an early lunch having seen the pub previously when passing. We arrived just after they had opened and I didn't see any other customers. Bright and cheerful welcome, no problem with our dog coming in which was nice. Given it looked pleasant with tables in nice looking bay windows, we were a bit surprised to be given a table next to the disabled toilet, by the walkway and bar, but I think it was so they did not have to walk far. Almost immediately I thought I could smell urine, and eventually realised the toilet door was not shut properly.
