The Deer's Hut - Carte

on recommended we visited this beautiful and authentic English pub. When we arrived, we knew we found what we were looking for. inviting decor, inviting staff and an interesting menu that makes the usual fried dishes clear. we had the British charcoal, the plate and the cheeseboard, both brilliant, washed with a traditional ale. well 45 minutes drive from london.

beautiful pub, perfectly decorated with beautiful garden for a party. everything you need, and the most fantastic management team and staff who took care of all the details. the food was fabulous and the garden was beautifully decorated, could not go after...more huge thanks to jason and the team for a truly unforgettable evening for us and our whole family and friends who joined us!

I would just like to say what a wonderful afternoon we had held at a high-time reception in their beautiful garden area. I had not been in the deer’s hat for many years now when I lived in cornwall, what a transformation everything was very... tasteful and much thought about every detail given. the food was great and the staff very helpful and nothing too much annoyed. a day that the brittle and the tantigam will remember for a very long time. many thanks to lydia Voir le carte

We dined with some friends who hadn't visited Deers Hut for 35 years! They absolutely loved to see how the pub has changed and thought it looked great. We all had a roast and enjoyed it very much. The pub was so busy and all...the staff still had time for everyone and were very attentive. The added touch of the gift wrapped plant for the ladies was so kind and appreciated. Well done to Debbie and Jason, we are so lucky to have such a great pub as our local. Always enjoy our visits.

Had the most amazing meal here whilst meeting up with friends from Singapore. Our mess and la were outstanding and personally I would recommend the scallops followed by pork belly and then rhubarb dessert. Totally amazing and what a refreshing menu- imaginative and beautiful in...presentation and more importantly taste. Our waiter and waitresses were attentive and timely with taking orders and pacing courses despite it being quite busy. Hardly surprising this place is buzzing. It’s great!! Thank you so much.

We ate at The Deers Hut on the first night of our recent holiday in the area and it was so good we booked to return later in the week. The food is fantastic, with a mixture of favourites such as burgers and fish and...chips and more (for me anyway) interesting choices. The pheasant starter was amazing and I had the best hake I've had for a long time. The cheese board is also well worth having. The service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed both our evenings. My wedding day meal Booked a table for 11, 5 adults 6 children. Wow what can I say we arrived to a beautiful decorated table totally unexpected )the table was in it’s own snug area, my friend had dropped a cake off, this was...placed on a side table. Four of us ordered the steaks, we can honestly say this was cooked perfectly, it was delicious, one of the best steaks we have had. My stepson had the fish and chips, he said the batter was so light. If you are thinking of taking on a pub, or any business at all, you need to come here. From the moment we walked in the atmosphere hit us and reminded us of what going to a bustly, friendly pub used to be like. Moving...to dining area and it was still busy, but not so noisy that we couldn’t talk comfortably. The food was simply incredible. But most striking was the efficiency and cohesion of the staff. They worked together seamlessly with several different staff bringing us drinks and different courses and each one with a smile and such a welcoming attitude. Such a pleasure to be there and a shame that we aren’t locals. Well done everyone and thank you.

We were staying at the hotel up the road but when I called to reserve a table, they were fully booked. Thank goodness!!!!!!! I booked this pub as it was within walking distance and we had the most lovely evening. It was warm, clean, attractively...decorated, the staff were very attentive, and even though we had a little miscommunication about my booking (2 of us with the same name booked for 2, half an hour apart we couldn’t have been more welcomed and treated more respectfully. On top of this, the food is to die for. Absolutely delicious. We ate scallops to start which melted in our mouths, then my husband had fish and chips and I had the venison special.
