Had an amazing meal this evening. staff are lovely and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Great value. Will definitely be back soon .

Great little country pub, very old and authentic and very well kept. Food very good and excellent value, staff very friendly. Give it a try for a lovely country side day out.

Once again the Chequers Inn came up trumps! Cod and chips should be re-named whale and chips! A wicked chocolate sundae topped off a lovely evening. Service could have been faster but it wasn't a concern. Interestingly, Guinness is no longer served due to its price.

A very traditional dog friendly pub that serves good food. My partner chose and thoroughly enjoyed the salmon quiche, whilst I had delicious mushrooms in a Stilton sauce, followed by steak and ale pie with mash. The portions were large and the food was very...tasty.

Charming, cozy, and welcoming small pub/restaurant. The decor is delightful with its old gas lamps, low ceilings, and large wooden beams. The food was delicious, with generous portions and great value for money. The staff were friendly and enjoyable, adding to the fun atmosphere, especially with a group of friends. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

What a place this is. Not only beautiful, comfortable and relaxed but the food....well the meals are superb. The portions are very generous and delicious. We had pies which were excellent quality, both meat and pastry. The portions really are very generous and we were...trying our best to do justice to our meals but ended up having to leave some as we were full to the top. The waitress was lovely, very attentive and on hand to check everyone was ok. Well worth a visit (booking recommended) you won't want to go anywhere else.

Although there was a group of sixteen of us at our Christmas meal, the food was excellent, hot, and very tasty all served by polite, efficient, and attentive waitresses. We were seated in the smaller restaurant around a real fire, all cosy and warm making...it a party atmosphere and brilliant social evening, well done to Richard, Emily, and all the Chequers team, we will definitely be back. Personally, I have also enjoyed three lunches and a steak night at the Chequers and all four meals were excellent, it's well worth a visit.

we went to lunch on Saturday morning. as usual, eating was very good. I did not have too often fish and chips, but went for it and was not disappointed. the cod was huge and freshly prepared. only excellent. my other... half had the sampi and chips she thought was good. there were about other couples in the pub. presumably standard for a miserable Saturday midday. so I can't say how the things could be if very busy, but I've been here for years and it never disappointed. if they like ale, there is always a reasonable choice of the bar that was always of good quality from me.
