It was my husbands birthday last night and we had a fun evening in this well decorated pub with great staff and good beers.

The waitstaff was overwhelmed and impolite. The food was disappointing, as all four types of roasts were served together on one plate drenched in cold gravy, and the vegetables were overcooked.

Charging £72 for a bottle of Priorat that is typically sold for £18 at Oddbins is outrageous. The price should have been no more than £50. Make sure to inquire about prices when receiving a wine recommendation.

We had the most amazing time in the private room for a friends Birthday. Basilio went above and beyond to ensure that the lunch was a success. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. One of the best spots in London!

The Carpenter's Arms is a charming pub with a peaceful garden that provides a relaxing escape on a hot evening in London. The service is excellent, the beer selection is good, and they have a pretty decent wine list. The food is satisfactory, although the menu could use some updating as it mainly consists of heavy dishes, which may not be ideal on a warm night. The prices are on the higher side, comparable to a good restaurant, but the quality of the food does not quite match up. With some improvement and focus, this pub has the potential to return to its former 5-star status.

Fantastic so friendly. My wife and I were originally attracted to this pub restaurant as her maiden name was Carpenter. Random I know but as we were in Black lion Lane why not. So you can imagine our happiness when we were treated to a superb Sunday lunch with such superb friendly staff. If all restaurants had such lovely colleagues we would all be happier eaters. Louise the manager and Walt (excuse my misspelling) were professional and friendly. Our food was great and the St Emilion lovely. We are going back this Sunday with my daughters husband and her daughter. Thank you again.

One of the worst meals I’ve ever eaten which took an eternity to arrive. We ordered rump of beef and poussin for Sunday lunch The beef was inedible and was something akin to a 1970 Toby inn, thin tasteless beef quite obviously frozen, half a poussin which is no where near enough for a portion. The chicken was dry and tasteless and swapped with what seemed to be bisto gravy as was the beef Vegetables looked like they’d been cooked 5 days ago The staff utterly useless all should be working in a ”hipster” pub in the east end where quality doesn’t matter as long as they think they look cool, Italian general manager who clearly has zero knowledge or idea of hospitality or service and should be fi...
