"Visited days consecutively for lunch. First day the staff were very welcoming and service etc was very good and food reasonable. Second day was not so good. ordered lunch and only one got what was asked for! Two soup and sandwich. One got...soup and sandwich, one just got a sandwich with chips? There was a prawn special on the board. minutes after ordering a member of staff appeared to tell us they had run out of prawns, would smoked salmon do! These three dishes were delivered but no sign of the th which should have been a chicken salad. At this stage the waitress advised us that the chef was out of ..........Salad!! By the way the place was in no way busy. We are regular visitors to Carnoustie to play golf. Based on first day I would have recommended it but on second visit I would have reservations."

Standard fare, delicious specials at the weekend. Recently we have had stovies, fish pie, mixed meats or cheeses platters, and all washed down with a great selection of beer, wine and gins! Pilgrims gin is lovely! Staff attentive but can be slammed at the weekend,...so bear with them at busy times

The portion sizes and quality of the food were good, and the prices were very reasonable. The only downside was that the service was a bit slow, as my meal arrived a bit later than the others. Overall, it was a very enjoyable lunch at a great price and we were able to stay at our table for two and a half hours. I would definitely come back again. And just to note, you don't have to be a member to dine here. Voir le carte

The Restaurant was reserved for a Post Funeral Gathering of family friends, where there was a selection of sandwiches, sausage rolls, cakes and other bakery items, served with tea or coffee and an open bar. The selection of sandwiches and pastries was impressive and...was more than sufficient to satisfy the assembled guests. We basically had the club-house to ourselves so there was plenty room for mingling, socializing and reminiscing. The bartenders were very friendly, sympathetic to the occasion. It was a wonderfull organized and relaxed event

great food and a great team. we were so welcome. a group of want to see champions league games. I asked about eating and beer and... what a fantastic answer. the chef stayed in the evening when the captain did the bar and we had such a good time that we booked for the next night to do exactly the same again. I was asked to go and check the menus for the evening. the chef has plagued me through what he thought, and we ended up with a choice of appetizers and nuances and made home sticky toffee pudding or a cheeseboard. all house cooked and great worth. the team is a loan to carnoustie with the ladies and young girls that served us so happy and nice. we will definitely return when we return to...

"Overall, we had a disappointing family meal at the local restaurant. We booked for a table of 12 for my mum's birthday. We were the only table when we arrived. Another table of 2 arrived during our main course. There was a friendly informal server when we arrived though I got the impression he was not a formal waiter as he did not know much about the menu. He also disappeared after a short time. After this time, we were served by one of the kitchen staff. Obviously, this led to inadequate and slow service. The meals were served very slowly. We had no option to order more drinks throughout the meal. Our main course plates were not taken away after we finished and after waiting for a while we decided just to leave and get deserts at home. Some comments about the food. We were told when we first arrived that there were no steaks. That reduced our options considerably. However, what surprised us was one of the diners at the other table was served a steak! We were told that they do not have tomato sauce. This is highly unusual for a restaurant that serves steak, burgers and chicken tenders with chips. One of our party member nipped down the road to a local shop and bought a bottle ketchup for the table. The food was okay but we felt it was very one dimensional. A lot of the dishes were served in a similar manner with the same dressings and toppings. The chips were a little greasy. I would have wished that our experience was better but unfortunately it wasn't so. I understand how difficult it must be for the restaurant trade just now and we try and support local businesses. However, we would still expecting decent service and food. I tried to message the restaurant in the first instance for a response but have not received any reply."
