"The food and drinks were disappointing. I had the worst roast I’ve experienced in a long time. It took an hour for our meals to arrive, and when they finally did, it was a huge letdown. The roast chicken was just a breast and was as tough as old boots. The children's roast vegetables were lacking, and I was confused as to why there were no carrots included. I brought this up with the staff, and while they said they would relay the information to the chef, they didn’t offer any discount or compensation. Considering the price we paid, I expected a much higher quality meal. I suggest you think carefully before going out of your way to dine here. Service: 1 | Location: 3"

Some of the food came cold had to be sent back. Not all the cutlery was clean. Some of the portions were small so expensive for what we got. I will not visit again.

After a pleasant walk around Burrator Reservoir, we enjoyed a well-deserved pint and some good food. An added bonus was that it’s dog-friendly. I highly recommend it! Rooms: 4 Service: 4 Location: 4 Voir le carte

Used to be a great pub, now the service and the food is terrible. I Loved it when this place was first renovated, with its new menu, not sure what’s happened lately, but I wouldn’t go back. Service: 1

Visited for a roast last Sunday and my friend didn't talk to me for the whole meal. He was so impressed he kept pulling this weird face as if he was in heaven. Please see photo. I guess he enjoyed it.

Delicious steak and ale pie served with a shortcrust pastry. A great selection of real ales available. Friendly and attentive service. Prices are reasonable as well. Overall, a 5 for service and 5 for location! Voir le carte

Service and food were awful.... ran out of mostly everything by 4:30 Sunday so we had to have 3 burgers and a child's burger.... all were swimming in grease !!! That plus 4 drinks 3 cokes and a fruit shoot we were charged £80 plus pound, absolutely unreal !! Champagne surrounding lemonade service... and awful food. Would not recommend Service: 1

We had a wonderful stay at The Burrator Inn. The rooms were modern and cozy, and the owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome, ensuring we had everything we could possibly need. The food was fantastic, and we were fortunate to be there on quiz night, which added to the fun. We booked a bunk room, and it truly was the highlight of our trip—a memory we will cherish forever. I highly recommend this establishment!

"During our first visit, we found the pub in Yelverton gridlocked with cars, so we ended up here instead. The staff kindly let us in early due to the chilly and wet weather, but we still took a stroll around the attractive village. The other pub was closed, but there is a Spar and a chippy nearby, and the river looked stunning after the heavy rain. Community Christmas trees added some holiday cheer. Back at the pub, it was quiet inside with no music and a few other customers. The lower level area was closed off, and the furnishings were a bit tired, but the building itself had historic charm. The toilets were average. The friendly staff offered us a tasting of the cider as well as a bonus glassful from the box (which was a Lilley's still at 6.0%, very good). The beer selection was the usual DoomJail, so we opted for the still cider. I could envision this becoming a proper beer-focused establishment in the future, although it may not attract the right footfall or demographic. The highlight of the experience was the food, which was simple, unpretentious, and delicious. The sausage was meaty, the mash buttery, the peas plentiful, and the gravy piping hot. My friend's burger with chips and onion rings was also well received, and we cleared our plates. The portions were generous and served hot with a friendly smile. I would happily make this my local haunt. Bravo. We will definitely be back!"
