"This is a nice pub with a big car park and good drinks range, but the Sunday Lunch was a huge let down. Price was low, but the 'roast pork ' was like baked, thick cut bacon with the rind on (not crispy), turkey was better but nothing to write home about. Yorkshires and potatoes were likely from frozen. Overall, disappointing, nothing fresh and none of us finished their meal. Would stop in for a drink or possibly try their weekday food menu, but wouldn 't go back for a roast."

We visited the Brown Cow for the first time tonight, and it definitely won’t be our last! We had a wonderful evening with delicious food, a warm and friendly atmosphere, and lovely staff. Plus, it’s dog-friendly, which is a nice bonus! Thank you for a delightful night. Rating: Food: 4, Service: 4, Atmosphere: 4.

Have been here twice; once for a steak, which was really nice, and once for a Sunday lunch, which although not expensive was very disappointing. I really hope the proprietors take the feedback on board about this as The Brown Cow has all the makings of a cracking village pub, which we would visit time and time again, if they can improve the roast. "I’m really sorry to have to write this review, as we’ve been to Bake My Day approx in excess of 20 times in the past. We often come with friends and all of us feel the same and agree with comments below. Food is of good quality, although portion sizes vary I ordered avocado on toast and paid £2.50 for extra bacon; it came with 1 slice of bacon which is disappointing. they can’t accommodate children. I asked for 1 2 scrambled eggs and beans for our 18 month old and was told everything is pre packaged into adult portions therefore I’d have to order from the adult menu. I can’t understand why it’s too much trouble to cook 2 scrambled eggs and put some beans in a pan. Also, is it really that fresh if everything is pre made??? staff are very hit and miss. Sometimes friendly but often a bit stand off ish. We often don’t feel that welcome (plenty of other reviews also mention this). food timings. Food often comes late and we rarely eat together. We ordered 4 breakfasts (5 including the child’s) and there was 25 mins between the first and last arriving. finally the cost. We often get a cake/flapjack to take away and the bill is always around the £50 mark. I don’t mind paying for good food but when I pay £50 for 2 people and a child to have breakfast I expect exceptional service. We pay approx £90 100 between the 4 of us and this price is similar to 5* and Michelin establishments in Leeds and York such as The Ivy and The Star In The City. Unfortunately the 4 of us have decided that this is the last straw for us which is disappointing as we like to support small local businesses. If it’s too much trouble to make some scrambled eggs and beans for my daughter, and if it’s too hard to ensure all 4 breakfasts come out at the same time, and if it’s too hard to be welcoming to customers, especially when I’m paying £50 for breakfast, then I’ll take my custom elsewhere."
