"Awful, dirty unwelcoming and a very limited menu. Dead flies and wasps on the window sills and flies crawling all over the empty tables around us. Not a very pleasant experience."

Just popped in for food as we're staying near by. The food and service was very good

We went there for the bike meet, which was a good turnout. It's a shame the food wasn't up to much at all and wasn't much of a selection of beer

The beef and the chicken burger were great, the server was quite busy but still came around to check up on us to ensure all was good. Fantastic service

We go up for the bike night on every Tuesday, seems like a great place. Never ordered food from there so can't comment on that but love how they include bikers like they do

"We waited and waited for our breakfast and decided 45 minutes and no one updating us when we had asked where our food was, was too poor. We left. Some observations there are lots of staff but they are incredibly young. There always used to be someone clearly older and experienced who was in charge and directing things. Not now. Absent the missing food the coffee was less than lukewarm unacceptably so. We were stood waiting for around 5 mins when we arrived before anyone came over to seat us. I think that is crap. If someone goes to the bar and says ‘look we have been waiting over half an hour’ the right way to deal with it is not to argue and say that your system says it is only 20 minutes. For completeness I was being kind at 30 mins it was longer and I strongly suspect that your system said ‘only’ 20 mins because the young thing that took our order got distracted after and didn’t input our order in until later. Also when you say you are going into the kitchen to check where the food is and how long it will be, don’t go for a chat with your mate at the end of the bar. Also then don’t sulk off into the kitchen when you see I haven’t moved and am waiting/watching you and then come out and not come over and update me. All in all it was absolutely amateur hour. If you run the place with kids then you get kids level of service. I am local and a massive fan Saracen’s Head and Weston Hall. I won’t be back for a while and I will post this review where I can. It is a shame to see somewhere that has been so decent go on the slide."

"Upon arrival to the infamous Clifford Arms, located on the main road that travels through central Great Haywood. Whilst standing outside the ancient establishment, a demonic voice beckoned me towards the old fashioned building; with creamy white stripes which ran down the exterior of the building. Breaking up the white stripes was the occasional pillar of black worn timber framing the building. Entering the building i was greeted by a rather flabby gentleman who was perhaps aged in his late sixties. The Gentleman guided me towards a tree stump with multiple rows of pegs scented like a glorious voyage on the high seas scattered about it, where i deposited my worn and tattered coat for it to rest and simmer amongst the modern coats. However, what i found the most peculiar was a damp and soggy welly rack where i was requested to leave my boots. After leaving my clothing by the front door, I was guided towards a natural table with a slight wobble to it that aggressively and violently flung any glass of liquid across the room. after a noticeably short wait i was greeted by a group of sixteen children who surrounded me and demanded my order. I requested a steak and ale pie from the amazing chef working inside of the kitchen. After providing my order to the children a demonic snarl was heard coming from behind the bar and seconds later a small and bruised child ran out with a plate (made from browned china). the plate was placed down in front of me and spun 8 times until the child was satisfied whit the direction at which the pie was facing. After slicing into the golden pie a foul stench was smelt similar to that of blue-green algae which sits on the surface of the ocean (which just so happens to be my favourite scent). upon stuffing half of the cold pie into my mouth, I bit into a tuft of flavourful fur which got stuck into my teeth and wound around my teeth like wire. After finishing my delightful meal i noticed that the room was of course swaying as if i was sailing on the high seas during a day with a rather aggressive wave pattern; this off course was the pinnacle of my experience and took me back to the joys of my youth when i frequently sailed along the seas. Overall, this was a lovely experience and i would definitely return at a later date. Kind regards, Admiral Shirley"
