"The Angel is my regular, admittedly I haven’t been for a while due to personal reasons, work etc etc. my daughter came for lunch as soon as we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly man behind the bar( sorry I didn’t catch his name) and he attended to us after serving a customer, he took us straight to our table, and advised us that Alan would be our waiter. Alan came over friendly as ever and took our drink order, then our meal order, the food was absolutely superb my daughter ordered Taoas and I ordered the cheese ploughman’s and chips which are my favourite. They asked if everything was ok, and once we finished, we asked Alan if we could take the remaining bits home, which he happily agreed. We both had a dessert, the Lemon Possett was so light and refreshing. We asked for the bill and then paid. Overall 10/10 Alan was fantastic, friendly, nothing is too much trouble for him or any of the staff, I will be returning. 5"

We had a lovely dinner for 4 of us plus a 3 year old. The problem came when we ordered dessert. It was taking over 30 mins and our toddler was getting very tired. When we queried it they just said they were very busy which they weren’t! Such a shame

My sister and I travel up from Cornwall to visit our dad in Thorpe Bay. We always make sure we go for a meal at The Angel. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Alan is particularly great in the restaurant; nothing is too much trouble- he is a real asset to the place. Food is always tasty, good value and plentiful. Good selection of wine and beers. Would love The Angel to come to Cornwall! Thank you all for a lovely evening.
