Yum absolutely fabulous loft breakfasts, the full and not so full. The best toast and butter outside home . A really must to visit. staff so helpful and friendly

Great restaurant above the shops in the centre of town. Style is somewhat bohemian with local art on display. Good variety of homemade foods and local fish specialties. Service is friendly. Closes at 9pm

first visit in loft. absolutely brilliant. great menu, fantastic food all prepared from ground on and cheap. as restaurants, this is a hidden gem. the decor loved and the personal made a great work. will definitely return.

there are many great reasons to come into this beautiful, small restaurant in the first floor: friendly staff, interesting menu (especially the choice of seafood,) great eating, a series of drinks (including cocktails,) good value, beautiful environment. highly recommended!

Spotted this place by chance, called in to see if they had a table for 5 (with our dogs) We were quickly shown to a table, waitresses were attentive, drinks and food followed within reasonable time, food was excellent. Highly recommended the food and venue. Hope to visit again when next in the area.

the situation was surprisingly high. Wait, I think I only have the sweat: it means loft because it is up. that's crazy. definitiw to reserve a table when they are in the opposite, it is worth the treppensteig. they have like a bajillion different gins behind the bar, and that eating is a lot. seems to be popular with dog owners. no idea why, there is nothing suggesting that it is ideal for dogs

Visited on a wet Saturday afternoon in February without a booking but was accommodated without a problem so all good. Unfortunately it went downhill from there with shabby toilet facilities and poor food . Two of us had fish and chips or should I say batter and chips as the fish itself was almost non existent . To visit the seaside and experience such poor fish and chips was a real disappointment, not that any of the staff asked how the meal was mind you . Wouldn’t return or recommend I’m afraid.

Sometimes you are happy enough to stumble on a hidden gemstone. this is the case for me in sidmouth when I found the loft. I couldn't get an evening booking, so decided to eat with a friend at lunch. cordial, great service with employees who are both pleasant and helpful. sharing the seafood plate followed by a classic steak berry was my choice. the fresh ingredients, take care of in preparation and simple practical presentation shimmers for the quality of food here. now the loft is permanently on my Devon dining list. in the first floor there is a little change from the lively street scene. the prices are fair, space is abundant and the ambiente is relaxed and informative.
