"Nice countryside location for this cafe and shop. A reasonable amount of parking and plenty of outdoor seating. But no prices on food drinks list displayed behind counter. No good if you queue at the counter to take food/drink outside. Prices on small print menu which was handed to you if they seated you inside. All very faffy why not let people choose their own table and then queue at counter? Coffee and cake were OK but very slow service. Bacon panini was very bland and boring two small slices of bacon, nothing else (no side salad, crisps or similar on the side). Very average won't bother returning."

I highly recommend the Afternoon Tea at this restaurant. The treats are delicious and the portions are generous. It is a lovely place to dine with a friendly, quietly efficient atmosphere.

Really loved this place, but recently there doesn’t seem to be as much love and effort put into their food. Delicious home made cakes have turned into the same old predictable tray bakes every week. Usually dry and stodgy. Real shame.

The barn cafe is an absolute delight. The staff are extremely friendly and polite and helpful. The food was really tasty and well presented. The decaffeinated latte was hot and delicious. The Christmas shop was very well stocked with wonderful present ideas.

Visited for lunch on my birthday, we had toasted paninis and the tomato soup with bread and butter, which were all delicious. The service was excellent, and everyone one was very friendly. Had a browse around the Christmas shop, they have a lovely selection of Christmas decorations and ornaments. Well worth a visit! Voir le carte

Visited for the first time. Welcoming smile on arrival. Lovely atmosphere. Table Service. Coffee was just so good....great flavour and temperature just right. My husband had a lovely teacake and I had bakewell tart , both were delicious. Followed this with a browse round a small but perfectly formed shop with some great items and well priced. We shall definitely be returning!

We recently enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at "The Barn" to celebrate my wife's birthday with seven friends. The selection of sandwiches and cakes surpassed all expectations, accompanied by plenty of tea and coffee. Everything appeared to be freshly baked on-site and tasted absolutely delicious. Our special occasion was made even more memorable thanks to the wonderful experience at "The Barn." Thank you, Sarah.

I had heard good reviews of the Barn so when I spotted the sign to Stratton Audley I thought I would detour for a quick snack. I got to the counter at 2.02pm and asked if I could still get a roll from the lunch menu that was available until 2.00pm. An enquiry was made and the response was no everything was turned off I am reassured that in these strange times not every small business needs or wants customers. Best to drive on and find somewhere that values your business Voir le carte

The shop had a beautiful selection of Christmas trees, but we opted to have food at the cafe. The hot chocolate was made with water and tasted like warm dishwater - not worth the £3.50 price tag, especially since they had run out of marshmallows. My coffee and walnut cake turned out to be a heavy chocolate cake with coffee icing, which my daughter and I left mostly untouched. The food was overpriced and disappointing. Despite the lovely shop, I would not recommend the cafe. I will not be returning.

Returning to Stratton Audley Barn after an enforced break due to major surgery, was pure joy. It was always going to be my first port of call. With it's warm welcome, delicious light meals, great atmosphere and truly lovely friendly staff,it never ever disappoints. We have been coming to The Barn for a number of years now, whether as a couple or with friends and family and it has to be our very favourite place, which we revisit time and time again. Currently their Christmas shop is a must, full of beautiful gifts, and unique decorations.

"I’m frustrated and annoyed with booking a romantic meal for our year wedding anniversary, with the current pandemic and work commitments it made a change to make an effort and be excited to visit the boxing hare as the reviews had been excellent. We...were seated in the garden room, next to a family who were on first name terms with the waiting staff and who were so loud I thought I was at a Chelsea match! We received complimentary glasses of champagne and we placed our order for starters and main which were excellent however I felt rushed with the service, as much as I tried to have a conversation all I could hear was this family at decibels to which enough was enough usually I would say something, however rather than ruin there evening I asked for us to be reseated to which the waiting staff were in agreement that they were loud! So why place us next to them? We were given a table in a different part of the pub still busy with other diners giving respect to one another. The table given I was advised I had as it was reserved? I placed dessert order and two lattes with baileys followed by the bill! The bill was a tad on the steep side for a gastro pub perhaps the prices are based on the price of fuel to fill the owners Bentley Overall felt it was a rushed evening disappointed with the seating arrangements,I won’t be returning as I felt what was important to us wasn’t important to the Boxing Hare I’ve had better evenings at The Falkland Arms Great Tew, The Great Western Aynho"
