"I recently took my mom, who eats everything, to South Causey Inn for afternoon tea. While it was nice that there was a vegan option available, the quality of it left much to be desired, especially considering the £20 price tag. The portion sizes were smaller than the non-vegan options, but I was aware of this when booking. The battered mushrooms with mayo were tasty, but the sandwiches (BBQ jackfruit, hummus and cucumber, hearty) were average at best, with the hummus being particularly unappealing. The pear and walnut salad was good, although the strawberries were supposed to be chocolate-dipped but weren't, and the lemon cake was missing altogether. The baked goods (fruit and banana cake) had a dusty texture and were disappointing. I would like to believe that the kitchen staff should not have let them leave the kitchen in that condition, but it's possible that they had a negative view of vegan food and thought it was acceptable. Unless they improve the quality of their vegan afternoon tea offerings, I would recommend that vegans steer clear, especially considering the high price. I suggest finding a place that puts more effort and care into their vegan food options."

So impressed that this traditional pub has a whole vegan section. They also have a range of vegan alcohol. Honestly very happy!

I had a pleasant afternoon at the South Causey Inn yesterday. Anyone who thinks vegans are missing out is mistaken. I had plenty of delicious food, including a warm pear salad, rocket, red pepper and cherry tomato salad, a plate of bruschetta with various toppings, jackfruit sandwiches, pickles, coleslaw, two scones, chocolate cake, sorbet, fresh fruit, macarons, and chocolate-covered strawberries.

I had a lovely afternoon tea at South Causey Inn yesterday. Anyone who think vegans are missing out on anything is mistaken. I had more than enough food and all very tasty. There was a dish of warm pear, rocket, red onion and cherry tomato salad, a plate of bruschetta (of sorts) with herbs, lots of sandwiches jackfruit, cucumber, slaw, two scones, chocolate cake, sorbet ice cream, fresh fruit, macaroons, strawberries dipped in chocolate … I think that was it.

South Causey Inn, Stanley We hired a pod for 20 people outside, pre-ordered afternoon tea and finger foods like onion rings, wedges etc. Service was superb, unlimited coffee and tea pots refills, really impressed with their vegan afternoon tea Even though we were outside away from the main building, a press of a button and staffs were there straight away to help. Recommend for small parties like baby shower, birthdays, special occasions. They have pods for 4 people up to 20 people. £26.30 per person include hiring of the pod, (20people)

Before lockdown, this restaurant had a nice and varied vegan menu. However, since reopening, there are only four options on the main menu, two of which are salads. I tried the superfood salad, which was delicious and a good portion size the first time. The next week, it was smaller and £2 more expensive, with some ingredients missing. After complaining, I received a small amount of extra ingredients, but the salad was still disappointing. Two weeks later, I tried the only other vegan option, a Feta cheese salad, which was also disappointing and not worth the price of £14.95. It seems like the restaurant doesn't put in much effort for their vegan customers. I used to love eating here, but I w...

I will not be returning to this restaurant again. They have removed most of their vegan options, and the curry and fajita I ordered was basically a reheated prepackaged meal. When I inquired about allergens or requested modifications, I was informed that everything was pre-made. I specifically asked for a gluten-free dish and was given a regular one, only to be told after I had already started eating it. Despite making my allergies clear, the waitress did her best but it seemed like the kitchen staff had no understanding. I had a reaction to something in my meal, even though it was supposed to be vegan (my main allergy is milk). Additionally, the manager who came to assist was extremely rude...

I will not be returning to this restaurant even when I have money. They have removed most of their vegan options, and the curry and fajita I ordered was not up to par - it seemed reheated and low quality. When I asked about allergens or requested modifications, I was informed that everything was pre-made. Despite ordering a gluten-free option, I was given a regular one and only informed after I had already started eating. I made my allergies clear, but it seems the kitchen staff were not aware and I had a reaction. The waitress tried her best but it was clear the kitchen staff lacked knowledge. The manager I spoke to was extremely rude and dismissive, refusing to take any responsibility for...

This restaurant used to have a great variety of vegan options on their menu, but now there are only 4 items available, with 2 of them being salads. I tried the superfood salad and initially found it delicious and satisfying. However, on my next visit, the salad was more expensive, smaller in size, and missing key ingredients. After complaining, I received a few additional ingredients, including an overwhelming amount of red onion. The following week, I tried the Feta cheese salad, the only other vegan option aside from the superfood salad, but found it too sharp. The dish consisted of a large block of feta cheese on a plate with some leaves, walnuts, and rhubarb sticks. Overall, I found the...

I took my omnivore mum for afternoon most recently in south causey inn. although it was great that there was a vegan option, the quality of it was really disappointing, especially given it costs £20. the products contained were less than the other options, but I knew that if we booked, I guess it could take a little more up and take time for the preparation of vegan food. the broken mushrooms with mayo were delicious. the sandwiches (bbq jackfruit, hummus and gurke, hearty) were ok, the hummus was not very nice. pear and tweebelsalat was good. the strawberries should be dipped in chocolate, but were not and the lemon cake was not present. the baked were (fruit and banana cake) were terrible!...

"started really well and went to the counter and ordered a cream with bananas and nutella and especially gave no earthberries I also asked after a san pelegríno still water as this was on the menu. I was the first person to order and the last to eat at the end. I brought my water over which was a cheaper brand water I just had £2 for what I would like to have seen? we will, when asked for san pelligrino to say water that they do not in. Finally my crepe and I take a bite and understand that it is earthly on the whole species and wise by which I am allergic. one of my family members takes it back and says that I have asked for bananas, there is no earthly reason why I cannot eat it and did not want it on my crepe. then 5 minutes later another crêpe comes out, who was my bite crêpe, that someone had put the earthy and banan in the bananas. disgusting ... not sure whether this was a mistake or just stingy either as it did not. it is then returned because there is no way I eat, and it is explained again, there is a reason that I can not eat strawberries, to which then one of the owners passes to serve the right crepe and apology. I really hope that today a lection has been learned because cross-contamination is not a sweat. please be careful when they eat there. I didn't get any refunds offered, but then they were ready to serve me a bite crawl, so it didn't surprise me so much."
