"I made a reservation online and received confirmation via email. On the day of our reservation, myself and my friends arrived at the restaurant only to be told they were fully booked. Despite showing my confirmation, the staff informed me that they had only been open for 2 weeks and were not online. After speaking with the manager, we were eventually seated at a table (despite many empty tables available). We waited an hour for our food to arrive and had to request cutlery and napkins as they were not provided. While waiting, a large table who were also waiting for their food ended up leaving. Overall, I will not be returning to this restaurant anytime soon."

"We just moved to the area and had a couple of nice evening meals so booked to bring my daughter who had just had a baby for lunch. The price was the same as the evening and the food was terrible, my daughter always has spaghetti Bolognese as she says its best in an Italian restaurant. She gave me a bit to taste and it seemed like it had been cooked several times before. The pesto pasta with pine nuts I had was tasteless and no nice toasted pine nuts on top, in fact I couldn’t see any at all, it was very disappointing after I had told my daughter and partner how good it was. They had made an effort with decorating the table and the people are lovely but I think I probably won’t go back."

"My breakfast at Chaplin's Restaurant in Dover was amazing. The regular breakfast was excellent, with just the right portion sizes that left me feeling completely satisfied. The black coffee was delicious and paired perfectly with the meal. The standout of the experience was the fantastic service from the chef, who made sure everything was perfect. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a fantastic start to their day!"

"We had Cote de boeuf which was share at Delicious but very expensive would have been a better price. Also, our table of paid service which was discretionary admittedly. A bit too much. However, we enjoyed the evening and will be returning"

"3 of my friends ordered the same thing. Mixed meat grill. Presented nicely, but unfortunately that's where it all went wrong. We all had the same issue. I spoke out. I asked if the sausage was ment to be pink? Was assured it was. We...was not particularly happy. I cut into my lamb. It was raw. When I passed comment to the chef and owner, he came out and said it was fine, then to prove it he ate the sausage from my plate, and asked if I was qualified to eat' I kid you not the chef said and did this! I was a little perplexed by this show, as I had not seen that before..... he said it was pink because it was homemade. Pink pork? I am a little sceptical.....They then hurried us out of the door by presenting the bill a few minutes later. Not a particularly pleasant experience. I would be mindful if anyone dared to pass a negative comment to the chef, as he came across particularly aggressive, and was defended by the Soux chef, who actually cooked' it. I only put 1 star, as 0 is not an option...."
