Had sunday roast (beef) great food, good portion, couldn't fit in pudding, proper old world bar. friendly staff definitely be returning

Very good food and service excellent choice. We would recommend for lunchtime meal and would be more than happy to return to try the evening menu.

Great range of top quality roasts on a Sunday . Beef was lovely and rare and warned through further for a member of our party whom prefers it that way . Children were very well catered for and were very happy worth their nuggets, chips and peas (as that’s what they wanted . Great Mothers Day Roast !

I stopped in for a meal while working in the area. The chef suggested the prawn and salmon Caesar salad, which had a nice spicy kick to it. It was a delicious dinner. The bar staff were friendly and the pub had a great atmosphere. I will definitely return. They also have rooms available, which looked very nice.

Had a one nights stay in a terrible room, small, directly onto the road and damp. Needs loads of repairs, I fixed the bed so we could sleep. One towel and one tea cup. Locals at the bar made it impossible to approach the staff to complain. I followed up by email but never received a reply. Waste of money with little to no care from staff Voir le carte

We held a wake here on the basis of their online photo of a high quality buffet . This is FAKE INFORMATION on their website. They provided warmed up supermarket essentials and no-one to serve it or keep an eye on tea and coffee levels. There were not enough sandwiches for 30 people and the coffee was instant coffee. They ignored our email complaining and when we spoke to Rob by phone, he denied our concerns and blamed us for not raising it on the day. AVOID unless you 're really tight for cash.

Yesterday, we dined at the Saracen's Head and enjoyed a fantastic roast chicken dinner. The variety of vegetables, including the delightful cauliflower cheese, was impressive. Usually, this dish is an additional cost at other restaurants we have visited. For dessert, we had apple crumble, which was delightful. The staff was friendly, and the service was top-notch. This was our sixth visit to the Saracen's Head, and each time the food and service have been outstanding. Thank you for a great experience!

Afterwards, we sent an email expressing our dissatisfaction and requested some form of compensation, as we did not feel it was appropriate to address these issues on the day of the wake. Despite not hearing back for 5 days, when we finally spoke to the owner, Rob, he disagreed that there was anything wrong with the food. He mentioned that he had recently taken over the business and that the website needed updating to reflect the current menu. We were disappointed that our concerns were dismissed, and despite promising to look into the matter further, Rob never followed up.
