"Eating at Rocco is one part military, one part Italian. Let me explain. Our party of 17 which reserved a week in advance was ushered into the doorway, given glasses of Prosecco and made to wait around in the blistering heat and bad air (perhaps the restaurant aims to recreate the environment of an Italian summer) due to a reservation mixup. Eventually, we did get a table, not before we witnessed the waiters raising their voices at each other on account of the mistake. After being ushered to our table and handed water and wine (which was dangerously drinkable), the waiters took our order. So far, so good. And then we waited. And waited, and waited. And waited. A good hour and a half later, our meals arrived. At this point, the waiters, about 3 of them, fought over who could announce the dishes loudest. NUMBER 31!!! PASTA SCAMPI NUMBER 17!!! AAAAAALSTER WASSSSSSERRRR! . Running between tables and just missing my forehead multiple times, eventually we all got our orders. This entire ordeal was extremely unnerving the last time I remember such behavior was when my boot camp commander ushered us though the mess hall kitchen to mop the floor as quickly as possible before shooting range practice. It is just lucky, then, that during this hour and a half of waiting we were constantly being topped up with more wine. If I wouldn 't have been so tipsy, I would have probably been slightly more agitated. To Rocco 's defense there were no mixups in the dishes. With a party of 17, that 's pretty impressive. The food was moderately good. I 've had better Italian food elsewhere, however the Rocco chefs deserve a thumbs up for throwing in more than two bits of Scampi. Unfortunately, the type of experience I had at Rocco needs to eventually result in nothing less than excellent food. Which it wasn 't. I probably won 't return to Rocco, even with a smaller group. There 's something to be said about military inspired experiences, and the will to avoid them as much as humanly possible."

Une très belle place italienne, quelques quarts au nord de Reeperbahn. Grande pizza et carpaccio. Italien authentique. Prix raisonnables

reservation worked well. the rest was moderate: waiter was overwhelmed. the seats were tight. that was good. prosecco at the beginning was ok (free). the music too loud. very dark. I didn't think so intoxicating. we were 8 people.

nice eating at a reasonable price. Top brands for the energetic and friendly staff who had a busy night and unfortunately served our children 10 minutes later than we. definitiw recommended for families when the parents. something extraordinary and the children are easy for pizza.

Désolé gars, tu pourrais faire beaucoup mieux!

I have ordered Italian vegetable soup and received after 45 min something like ‘Are you kidding me!!?’.. felt like frozen veggies with some spicies.. Then I had calamary with scampy, very average. Since we were waiting in total 1 hour (without any warning before)...and the quality and service were poor but atmosphere ok I give this time 2 stars! Sorry guys, you could do much better!!

I love this place. It has character by the bucket-load and you can get a very good meal for around EUR10, with a prosecco thrown in at the start and an digestiv after the meal. The waiters all shout an Italian welcome whenever anyone walks through the door and for that truly authentic feel they're all a bit grumpy while serving, just like the service in Italy; we were still served promptly however. A charming eatery with lovely food for a very fair price. Easily recommended. Voir le carte

Had a great time here due to the hilarious service from the slightly surly but none the less amusing waiter. You get free aperitifs, and we got free spicy shots afterwards too, which is a nice touch. Steak was nice but they wouldn't cook it rare for some reason hence they're not having 5 stars. They guy also said it was best not to have 5 stars in his review otherwise the wouldn't strive to be better! Anyway eat here! It's good. update Everybody else hates this place. It's not that bad, but, there are much better Italian places very very close by, so why bother? Da Leonardo here we come

as I am Italian and eat in food quite orthodox, I usually go only to recommend other Italians in Italian restaurants in the country. when it was played last night for the European Football Championship and a (Italian)! friend of a friend rocco mentioned, I decided to eat a pizza there. it was quite lively with tables outside and crowded with customers (all German .erstes suspicious sign). the owner (or oberkellner) spoke quite well Italian with an accent that could be confused with a southern (sardish perhaps)? but when they brought us glasses (procediently) prosecco with ice cubes (!) and "penne all’arrabbiata" "penne all’arabiata" (!!!) was written, I knew it was a ripple. the eating was n...

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
