"Came over from Tavy with my parents and found this tea shop right away by the central car park. As soon as we walked in we got a sense of friendliness and warm welcome. Great menu choices I had a lovely sardines cheese on toast with a varied menu of sandwiches, toasties together with some specials. A sign of a fab place is when locals are in and there were many coming and going. The house blend tea was the best I’ve had in ages and they also offered some very interesting speciality teas too. This is what great tea shops should be like!"

"The Team at the Live Let Inn are simply fantastic, I could not fault any of them from the front of house/bar staff to the kitchen/chef everything was 5 stars. Cal and Brandon made us feel the most welcome we have ever felt at any hotel or restaurant and no request was too much. The guys have everything down to a T and we couldnt ask for anything better when we needed saving. Lunch, Dinner and drinks were all superb and if you’re ever in the area you HAVE to pop in. We cannot wait to return when they are next available. Rooms: Gorgeous, cosy and incredibly functional! Perfect for a stay. Food drinks: Simply incredible, every dish was better than the last and the roast is a must have! "The Singing Kettle used to be a charming spot for food, especially cream teas. I have fond memories of visiting with my mum and Nan years ago, as well as more recently with my partner and son. However, it's no longer the same. What was once a lively part of the community is now lacking in character and is quite expensive. The restaurant often isn't open when it's supposed to be, which has led to many people being disappointed. The lack of consistency and planning behind the scenes may sadly result in the closure of this longtime establishment. It would be wonderful to see The Singing Kettle restored to its former glory and continue to be a beloved spot in town."

"A totally superb roast lunch in an atmospheric 11th century inn. Clearly a very popular spot for lunch on a Sunday, so don't expect to walk in without a reservation and find a table. We left at 3.30; our table was ready for waiting customers very shortly after and Sunday lunch was still being served. The carnivores in our group said that the pork crackling was amazing, the vegetarians loved the nut roast. All the vegetables were excellent, especially the cauliflower cheese and (not a common sight the roasted beetroot. We sampled three of the six or more possible desserts, all scored very highly. Mine was a most enjoyable apple and pear crumble with creme anglaise (custard? . We were happy to forgive fairly slow service, first of all because we didn't want to rush, secondly, because there was a party of 30 people being looked after at the other end of the inn and, thirdly, because the staff were really lovely even though they were clearly extremely busy. We shall definitely be returning; this lunch was easily one of the top three best we have experienced over many years."

"The best I have ever tasted. Batter is perfect, lovely juicy fish. Totally outdoes anything I have tried nearby, and the staff are happy and friendly and advised me on the food to order as I wasn't sure, I was ordering for a big group of people with different preferences . We did try another fish and chip shop that was local, but the person that answered the phone was very rude and not helpful. I felt as if I was annoying them for asking about the menu. That put me off straight away. Definately jolly Roger will be my choice. Can't praise it enough.
