"I used to like this place visited on Sunday for a roast. Really like the service here the staff are all really nice and are lovely with my daughter's. I had the duo of beef and wife had the roast chicken. Whilst the gravy had great depth and tasted awesome I would say I was disappointed with the slither of dry sirloin which had a hard textured ring around it and the short rib boneless was either burnt or a blob of fat. The food wasn't great. Wife said the chicken was okay but felt sick later (not blaming the chicken but only thing she ate that day other than cereal) The kids pizza was a sloppy mess tasted nice but didn't even hold its shape. The place and its surrounding fields smelt like sewage. I was told it was the fields outside but that mixed with the bleach smell made me feel like I was eating in a rest room. The prices don't reflect the standard of food they serve is my biggest problem. The four oaks same chain and menu doesn't smell same friendly staff. Gutted as this place used to be good and is in a great location so much promise yet missed on delivery."

here let in for a drink and a bowl with chips, beautiful roaring fire and beautiful atmosphere. Sunday dinner looked fantastic, we booked for next week

beautiful meal Sunday lunch today. had the sea bass partner had the coconut curry. really satisfied. had mini dessert with coffee. I'd definitely go back. friendly staff too.

delicious food. beautiful atmosphere. could do with more elements on the menu. they love the possibility of a hot drink and a mini dessert. not so mini and very good. much better than I remembered before. will be back.

Very nice service lovely waitress meal was tasty but didn't think there was too much choice I am 79 and don't understand these new menus I don't know what a lot of them are. Saying that it was a very lovely lunch. Thank you

Great gastro pub that I googled on the way back from Wales. The food was wonderful and the venue was beautifully refurbished. Thank you especially to the (I think) restaurant manager who was very attentive and excellent at looking after the customers.

we came with a group of friends for a birthday and christmas together, and were not disappointed. a great selection of food and weeping and brilliant service from our waiter, well, he made us the visit unforgettable. really extraordinary eating and great worth, in beautiful surroundings. would highly recommend.

Visited for a friend's birthday. Surroundings itself are very nice but service food, unfortunately, weren't the best. It took a while for the server to take our order not sure if that's due to staffing issues) and then when my fish chips came, it was indelible. Have visited a few times before in the past but have to say, the last few times hasn't been upto usual standard.

As ever, great food and drink in a lovely environment. Huge thanks to the team who managed to accommodate the various disabilities special requests of our party of 8 1 elderly dog. We couldn’t have been more ‘special needs’ if we’d tried and the whole team took everything in their stride and made sure we could have we could have an inclusive and much needed family get together.
