"Do you know the Hamburg district Veddel (not to be confused with Weddel, which is also in the city area)? No, that's really bad, because our last night ended before she left home the next day. It is located just 2 S train stops from the local HBF and houses a small, cozy Italian pizza restaurant that can be found right next to the train station. Here things are prepared by a washed Italian con amore, as it belongs and at a decent price, unlike those who were asked in the city center, where certainly a tour is due. Not in Pizzeria! Piccola It is a very small place where at most approx. 15 people can feel comfortable at the dark tables and the cozy benches (or bistro chairs). Where should I start when it comes to a personal highlight that should not remain a white spot that, despite the fact that the pizzeria Piccola has existed for several years, could not even be found here before I created it... Even if the name suggests that it is offered much more than that. All meals can be delivered. The menu is clearly visible, but everyone can find something suitable for themselves! Access is barrier-free, but if you want to use the small but clean tile department, some steps must be taken. It is an aspect that should not be ignored! Since both of us did not come into question after the tasty appearances of antipasti or noodles and fish appeared too expensive (from the grill, etc. understands), only the question was asked which coating comes into question. It was quite surprised that in Piccola there are no calzones we like. A short demand in the service and the pizzaman could prove his art and make me a vegetarian with mushrooms, onions, peppers and other vegetables on which I am no longer. My friend wanted a Hawaii that was only given after negotiations. The whole costs about 7 8 € each. There was a white wine choir for me. A gastronomy that knows how to house its guests offers a small amount of time, so time does not seem too long. Here it was the antipasti we saw in the exhibition: olives for my friend, delicious chili for me and the bunbly cream we shared. Some slices of white bread. That was a good start. There were already the hot pizzas. For my taste it could be a little more cover inside, but still I haven't done it all and that's what I mean! It is also disadvantageous that the cheese used hardly tastes itself. We accepted that at the price. Too bad Hamburg is so far, otherwise we would have been good regular guests and we also told the young man. It was a harmonious location that had greeted us at the end of our stay. If it turns out, we like to come back, we have it so well and we want it. It is one of our favorites in the Hansemetropole! What should I say big: it was worth it, it is an address in Hamburg that counts among our favorites! Now the Pizzeria Piccola is no longer a white spot that was “erobert” and found for good!"

I love the kitchen. Sometimes I drive from Harburg to eat there. From Veddel train station I'm there in 3 minutes walk. Everything fresh and decorated with love. Five stars! Oh so service also first cream.

The pizza was delicious and not as thin as is the case with some other pizzas. The service was friendly, which unfortunately is no longer self-evident. We like to come back, next time maybe for dinner with friends.

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
