Well this place was a bit specialA seafood joint with a real hint (actually a full on hoof) of class through their entire operation.

It's hard to pinpoint with some restaurants why they don't hit the spotSome, it's alarmingly obvious - the service is surly and the food is poor.

Great service and a good lunch. The food was fantastic and perfectly cooked and the staff was friendly. Overall a great place for a treat for the taste. Many options when you add the elections to the oyster bar. Eating place in edinburgh. Voir le carte

Love food and the environment! The frying plate is very nice and the soup is also amazing. My favorite is the bread they served before meal, it would be nice if I knew the name of bread. Never had such amazing bread and I would definitely buy and eat them every day!

a sentence; everything is pretty good, but not great. Expect more of this type of restaurant at this price point. The food is well made and the seafood fresh. Service could be better, but no complaints. I am a seafood lover so that my expectations lie on the high side. Overall at the bottom of the 5 star, but not crossed on the 4s.

My husband and I went for the seafood plate that was served hot. It was excellent. It contained Lobster, Scallops, Crab, Clams, Mussels and Oysters. They were all served in a garlic and white wine sauce. We have this court every time we go, because we haven't found anyone who makes it better. If you love seafood, this is the place to go. May be dramatic considering I’ve lived here my entire life but Ondine is one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Edinburgh. Wonderful service and gorgeous food that arrived very quickly after ordering. The restaurant itself has a really chill ambiance, I cannot wait to go back and try more items off the menu! 10/10 across the board!

Good experience. My head was the same with other fish restaurants. Of course tasteful, nothing more and nothing less. Presentation of dishes also acceptable standard. Batter and fry somewhat disappointing by comparison. Something darker than usual, good for food, not so great to appreciate the beautiful red color of the lobster I had to consume.

Fresh and delicious seafood. I recommend the seafood plate for exchange. It got a good amount of different types of seafood, including 4 large oysters, 2 huge scallops (big I have ever seen), 2 long, many shells and also crab legs. Her raw oysters were also very good, I prefer fried her. The fried Calamari was good, the Vietnamese sauce came with it has a strong smell. I wish I didn't order fried squid and spare space for desserts. Voir le carte
