The food here was TOP NOTCH!!! 4 Vegan/ vegetarian options on the main menu and a menu of healthy raw vegan desserts. This place has a warm homely feel and the service was great. Make sure you ring in beforehand to let them know you are vegan.

We had an exclusive dining experience at this restaurant, as they only book up to 8 guests at a time and we had the whole table to ourselves with a party of 4. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The restaurant is run by a charming husband and wife team, making it a hidden gem. The food at this restaurant was delicious and the service was excellent. However, you must pre-order your food 24 hours in advance. The location is great, but the downside is that you have to share a table that seats 8 people. If you're a couple, you'll be seated with 6 other guests, which made me feel uncomfortable. I suffer from anxiety, and sitting so close to strangers without any social distancing measures in place was not an experience I would want to repeat unless I was with friends or family.

Our family of six vegans ate the most deliciously tasty vegan meals here. We shared the vegan starter of roasted mushrooms which was very yum! Five of us had the cabbage and chestnut roast with potatoes and vegetables and one had the mixed bean goulash with rice, it was all so so good! This place has a warm homely feel and is a highlight to dine at, we felt very welcome even though it's a traditional Scottish restaurant that serves meat and animal products. They are very aware of vegan dietary requirements and have gone above and beyond to provide for vegans and vegetarians. As a local, we are so lucky to have such a wonderful and unique place to enjoy such incredible food, incredible in many ways. From a tiny galley comes the freshest most delicious food you can ever imagine, packed with flavor and produced with genuine passion, you can almost taste it before it even hits your mouth! The seafood in particular is excellent and fresh, delivered every day from Orkney, the once home of the lovely couple who run Oakwood. The various sauces for the fish are rich being packed with a mix of butter, cream, wine and fresh herbs. All vegetable's and potatoes are fresh, don't expect frozen food here.
