"Came with my partner and little boy for a rare meal out, ordered 2 mixed grills, kids meal and some sides. Everything on mixed grill was lovely except for the gammon which was horrendously salty and rendered the meat completely inedible unfortunately. The reason for my low stars didn’t lie with the food, but sadly the staff who appeared rude, aloof and watched our table like hawks for the entirety of our meal, at one point there was 3 staff and the chef looking over and staring. It made us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable throughout the duration of our meal. We left half our meal and paid immediately not able to get out of the uncomfortable experience quick enough! Was a relief to leave those doors and we shan’t return under any circumstances. Avoid this establishment. Paid £70 to be made to feel like we’re doing something wrong!"

"Absolutely loved the meal tonight at the new Royal Oak! Such a beautiful little pub! Food cooked to perfection, loved the layered chicken staff were very welcoming, and polite, the new owners made us feel very welcome, Everything was clean, couldn't pick any faults if I tried! Thank you to Shane Ynwa Kilgour for the best food I've tasted in a while! Would recommend everyone to come and try it out????"

"Absolutely shocking, dont go! When we got there to check in, was met by a rude lass, got keys to room, carpets going up full of dog hair, the smell was fusty, like it hadnt been cleaned in years, got to room, huge cobwebs everywhere, spiders all over, bedding was stained and throw had mud all over, thick dust everywhere, smell even worse in room and very cold, old worn dirty sofa in room, like off back of a skip, bathroom grotty, wee stains on toilet, grime around sink plug, sh9wer head full of thick grime. Jacuzzi bath was full of hairs, walked straight back out and asked to speak to manager, she came in and was like whats the problem? we explained and she basically said they never have any complaints and what do i expect? its an old building, she scoffed saying it was cleaned daily, I got my refund and left, looked on reviews once out and people had wrote the same as us, so clearly its a common problem! ruined our night completely, they need to seriously clean up their act, its disgusting. they didnt even know how to do a refund, gave me cash in the end. shocking."

"Myself and my wife went for the first time this evening for Valentines and arrived at around 20.10. The first thing that we noticed was how cold the place was and were moved to another table where it was just as cold. Many people were...sat eating their meal with coats on. We were finally asked to order at about 20.40. By 21.35 our starter still not had arrived. I then went to cancel the meal and was told that te starter was just in the oven and so I confirmed the cancellation. I was then charged for the drinks that we had but was charged for 2 large wines when my wife had only had medium. We asked to speak to the manager and was told he was too busy and therefore had to leave our number for a call back. Evening ruined, we left. The manager later called and basically just offered a free bottle of wine without understanding the real problems and making no attempt to say how they would rectify the service and the temperature for future. At this point we stated that it was pointless offering free wine when we would not go back anyway. He then turned sarcastic and rang off. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE COMFORTABLE EATING YOUR MEAL, BE SERVED IN A DECENT TIMESCALE AND HAVE MANAGEMENT WHIO UNDERSTAND GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE."

"Always come here for a takeaway! The best in the area by far. I live in Swinton Rotherham and sometimes come to Sunrise if I’m really craving it. The chow mein and special fried rice is always consistent, not too dry (like other places I’ve had) or too oily. The salt and pepper chips are always divine, and the spring rolls are absolutely delicious. You can tell it’s true authentic Chinese food. It’s not too expensive either each dish is about £5 £10. I’d recommend Sunrise to anyone in the area. The only downside is that it is cash only and when it gets busy, the parking across the road is usually full we park on the cul de sac just down the road from Sunrise and make the short walk. Vegetarian options: The veggie options are clearly stated on the menu. Parking: There is some bays across from Sunrise, otherwise you have to park on the estate just down the road which is about a 1 2 minute walk."
