"Superb café; delicious food and drink, and wonderful proprietors. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. If you're looking for great food (regardless of being vegan) there are options here for everyone. They've always got plenty on offer, the prices are very reasonable and it's a nice place to pass the afternoon! Definitely the best place for lunch in Okehampton. Be warned – make sure you turn up early, book, or prepare to be disappointed, they don't have many seats!"

Loved the porridge, set me up for a long day of cycling, all the cakes and things looked fantastic and I was sorry I didn't get to try them. I was impressed that her oat milk was home made as well

excellent eating, excellent coffee and a huge selection of tea and beautiful cakes. it is 100% vegan, but you would never know if you didn't ask. perhaps also the most friendly place in okehampton. I see you there! Voir le carte

this woman creates the most delicious combination of aromen. it is an excellent caffe, friendly and fun. there is a lot of hearty to satisfy, and oh, my cakes and tar are mouthwater. I would recommend a visit even if it requires a distraction to do it.

We stopped off here and had a vegan hot chocolate with our lunch. The vegan hot chocolate was better than most 'normal ' hot chocolates that I 've had, so I was very impressed! The food also was very nice, not entirely filling, but a decent sized lunch. Voir le carte

This restaurant was popular, but, being quite small, has CLOSED at this spot, but HAS MOVED to FORE STREET about 300 yards to the East, near the East Okement River, and its name has changed to The Allotment , as it uses food all supplied locally. I highly recommend it for a smiley welcome good wholesome food. Now sells jams preserves.

Visited 5 weeks into their food adventure. Nicely decorated, comfy seats and very friendly staff. All the food was great although I thought the Caribbean Curry wrap was rather over selling itself with a thin slice of pineapple and red pepper. I'm not vegan but I'd have no issue with going back for more. Lots of happy customers in there.

"Gidleigh Park is a country house located in a wooden wally in Devon. It is quite hard to reach the place on a very narrow road, which is very beautiful, but apparently during the winter larger cars can’t even get there. Gidleigh Park houses a two-Michelin star restaurant with Michael Caines as the main chef (the restaurant was recently voted number 1 restaurant in the UK by the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List 2014). Gidleigh Park also has bedrooms (apparently all individual in style and design) and you can stay there for the night and then wonder in the gardens of the estate, which I saw some people doing when I was there. I was visiting Devon and my boyfriend chose Gidleigh Park for lunch on a Sunday and we took the long and narrow road to Gidleigh Park. The inside of the house was very old and had a lot of charm. It had eclectic art and antiques and different style rooms, the lounge had different tables, chairs and the bar was done up in a completely different style. Gidleigh Park showcased British charm and elegance. You could chose to have their signature sample menu for £140/ person, but instead we went for the much cheaper version, their lunch set menu for £44/ person for 3 courses (you could also have 4 courses for £57). Also note choosing dishes a la carte would set you back £115, so the lunch menu seems like the cheapest way how to enjoy Gidleigh Park. We did not have any wine, but apparently thy have an amazing wine cellar. The three course lunch menu included a small appetizer, a starter and a main course and you could choose from one of the 3 starters and one of the 3 main courses. Our appetizer was “goat’s cheese foam with beetroot jelly, candied walnuts and granny smith apple”, but as my boyfriend does not like goats’ cheese he had a tuna tartar as his appetizer which actually looked better than my appetizer. I was not to"
