Molly's Tea Room - Carte

We had afternoon tea at Molly’s tea room and it was fantastic! Lovely food, lovely staff and felt very at ease! There was no pressure to leave and we got to take some treats home!

I went in the morning with my two year toddler. I wanted to make her surprise as she was sick for last few days. Unfortunately, the lady didn’t make it special. Very rude and not welcoming. Cake also average. You would think that this cafe would be great for kids. Shame.

Had set cream tea with family. Wonderful scones, classic china, perfect tea and excellent service. The place is quite small but it wasn't busy and the experience was everything and more than we could reasonably expect. Added bonus, there is a car park (free on Sundays) a few minutes walk away and unlike so many places today, it was open until 5pm. Voir le carte

Took my 90 yr old Mum to Molly’s today to celebrate her birthday, and she had a lovely time. Cannot fault the quality of the food, the welcome and the patience shown by Molly and Lorraine in keeping us well served. The sandwiches were millimetre perfect, fresh and tasty, the scones were warm and scrumptious. All washed down with bottomless pots of tea. Thankyou!

The ambiance and quirkiness was wonderful and the cakes we had where good but oh the coffee. I ordered a cafetiere for one and was actually gobsmacked to see the server pour coffee from the filter machine into the cafetiere, the coffee had obviously been standing for some time judging by the taste. My wife did not believe me, so I attempted to find coffee grounds in the bottom of the cafetiere. Will not be visiting again.

Having read a review about how “un-child friendly” it is I had to write this review to say it was the complete opposite! While there for my mums birthday a family came in with a small child. While there the small child had an accident and the owner have the child as I had care and attention as possible, to the point of the child having an extra special treat for their food. We could not have asked for a more personal experience and the staff were wonderful. The food was great and the price was amazing for the amount and quality we got! Voir le carte

I came here with my wife and we always have a lovely time, its such a nice atmosphere. Sometimes Molly is in and I can have a chat with her, but all of the staff are lovely, always happy to help with some more hot water for the tea. For us, the portions are just right, I don 't think of an afternoon tea as a belly buster but something that is delicate, a treat, and it is. Everything is so fresh. We sometimes stop in for a pot of tea and a slice of cake, they 're so freshly made, not like some places with pre-prepared cakes. I can 't recommend Molly 's enough.

Had a lovely afternoon tea which was prebooked, on arrival we were welcomed by the owner who I presume was Molly. She was very friendly and chatty. Tea was delicious but way to much!!!! all home made and fresh, including lovely fresh sandwiches, mini cakes and to finish off freshly cooked and warm scones with clotted cream and jam. All very delicious and tasty, tea room was very clean and everything was perfect. Just make sure you have enough room for all the amazing cakes and sandwiches. Good value for the amount of food. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Kevin Yolanda

Booked afternoon tea today for our mothers 80th Birthday. All very pleasant at first as we sat down. We were told we could have tea, coffee or any cold drinks. We had 5 cold drinks and some tea and coffee. We were not told it was extra for the cold drinks. We then pay and get told extra for cold drinks! £1.80 for can of Coke and £2.20 for juice! If we had known this we wouldn’t have had it. The rude and miserable staff member then went to check and she said you were told. Well we certainly were not! The owner didn’t even come out to apologise absolutely appalling! As for the sandwiches pretty average, and cheap bread. The ham was the plastic ham, not what you expect when paying £18.50 a head...
