"We had lunch one weekday in early October. Summerhills garden centre has a very nice Christmas display, so the on site restaurant was busy. The food is very average All day breakfast is OK, it's cheap sausages, bacon etc combined to produce a just about...acceptable meal. On site there is a Gibsons Meat shop, selling what muct be amongst the best meat in Essex it's just a shame the restaurant doesn't buy from them . The chicken/bacon mayo sandwich was the same, low quality chicken with small amounts of chicken/bacon and vast amount of cheap mayo. Most of the staff wore masks, but with no social distancing between themselves taking place. serious was the fact that the one man (who by his actions appeared to be the manager), didn't wear a mask, and was serving customers/handling food exactly as he would have done in the past. Now, he may have a clinical reason not to wear a mask, or he may have decided he isn't covered by the legislation I simply don't know. Either way around we are not going to go back to the restaurant when this is their apprach to Covid"

First time eating at this establishment. They had great food, came out fresh and hot. I had the Salmon pasta with the fresh garlic bread

Several tables clearly allowed mixed households. We didn't feel safe.ee ate quickly and left as we paid before we noticed what was going on.

Superb Italian food at this garden centre restaurant. Really excellent pizzas and pasta dishes. Had the best pizza of the year so far here today Voir le carte

Me and my friend came here on September and ordered food and a pot of tea. We intended to share the pot of tea but when we asked for another cup we was refused and the girl was so rude to us. If we...hadn’t have already paid we would have left.

Visited here for lunch and had a lovely prawn salad. Staff friendly, helpful and nice to chat with despite the place being quite busy. My only (small) complaint is margarine on the lovely bread. Will ask them next time if they have butter on the...premises instead.

We went for lunch , despite many notices, too many people were not observing social distancing or filling in the requisite forms . Tables were also too close together . I had salad Nicoise which was delicious , I was surprised to be served olives...with stones in them ! Some items in the menu are overpriced, bangers and mash nearly whereas normally that would be Voir le carte

First time visiting this place Went for convenience but glad we chose it. All day breakfast was well cooked and used decent ingredients. Other people with me had calzone and pasta dishes. All were pleasantly surprised. Everything came out in a decent time, piping...hot. Staff were polite and attentive. Couldn't ask for more and will likely go there on our next visit to the Garden Centre

Shocked that I was refused an extra cup for a pot of tea as it was policy' to only give out one. When politely asked for another cup as my friend and I only wanted a quick cup of tea (and not cups each),...we was met with rudeness from the member of staff attached. Disgraceful customer service, I could have gotten over bring refused the extra cup, it was the rudeness that upset me and will ensure I do not return again. If we had not of already paid then we would have left there and then. I understand this is not the first time she has been rude to customers so clearly needs to be sorted out.

"The Restaurant was a great find. Went there as a party of 3 for my birthday lunch treat today. The lunch menu has limited number of dishes compared to the evening one but are very well balanced. I have never seen kadhi chaval and channa jor garam on a uk restaurant menu, so well done for being so original. The restaurant is located nearest carpark 2, so best to park there. The restaurant decor has many traditional Rajisthani puppets hanging high above the restaurant entrance, nice touch. We ordered 3 starters (Street food) which we shared, they had the correct balance of sweet, hot and sour tastes, although I did compliment mine with additional tamrind, chilli and coriander sauces. We ordered different versions of the Thali. This was impressive indeed. The variety of items, presentation, flavour, temperature and amount of food served in the thali (the circular stinless steel plate) was perfection itself. Every dish had its own traditional Rajisthani unique flavour, could not fault it. Thank you Sohan for your personal courtesy you showed us, the table you had reserved for us, my birthday wishes and for having created a truely great, clean, restaurant with a memorable menu. This was amongst the very best food I have ever had, a great birthday feast. It was a true gastronomic delight for my tastebuds. The restaurant is now firmly on my agenda, a great find indeed. Recommended"

"My husband and I have been regular visitors to this restaurant over the years and never had anything to complain about, so when my husband booked for my Birthday with my family (6 adults and 2 children) we were all really looking forward to a lovely Sunday late lunch/early dinner. Our table was booked for 4.30 and we all arrived on time and were shown to our table straight away. We all ordered pre dinner drinks whilst choosing from the Sunday menu. All of our starters were lovely, including the prawn cocktail and the soup, however unfortunately we cannot say the same for the mains.....3 x beef, which of the two slices were fatty and rather tough, the roast potatoes were very very hard and tough and very difficult to cut through, the Yorkshire puddings were burnt and really quite inedible and the gravy, already on the plate, was very thin and watery. My husband had the lamb shoulder which was extremely dry. Vegetables were served to the table and consisted of carrots, parsnips and large slices of onion and swede mash, not a green vegetable in sight. We also had a bottle of wine which we continued to pour ourselves throughout our meal.......in the 'old days ' the wine was always poured for us! It was plain to see when we were 'finished ' eating our meals that there was so much left on our plates as not one of us enjoyed the dinner at all and it was all very dissapointing, hence we all turned down the offer of dessert, although my grandson ordered the kids brownie and ice cream which he enjoyed! Overall our visit was really really disappointing and sorry to say we left the restaurant all saying the same.....we will not be visiting again soon!"
