"Hong Kong Grill House Restaurant is owned/run by a Chinese couple. They specialise in Guang Dong cuisine. The dishes are good and less expensive compared with other chinese restaurant. This restaurant is well-known amongst the chinese/asians in Vienna because they roast their own good-tasting crispy duck, BBQ pork and Roast Pork (Char Siew).The indoor furnishings are not that great; it's plain/basic and simple. The floor might feel a bit greasy and you'll leave the restaurant smelling of the cooked food. But who cares about all these as long as the food is good and cheap. They have simple menu selection, that includes a fixed set menu where for Euro 12, you get 1 soup starter, 2 dishes of your choice, and dessert. The dishes are large enough for 2 persons, so you'll be full and satisfied. If you don't want to have the set menu, there's a good selection under the A La Carte. Favorite Dish: Roast Duck, Roast Pork, BBQ Pork, Pork Spare Ribs, Stir-fried Chinese Vegetables with garlic, and Fried Rice Noodles. We went here quite late on a Sunday night as it wasn't far from where we were staying. It was pretty empty though I don't know why!! We had read there was a menu for several dishes with one set price but unfortunately they didn't have that menu in English but all other menus were. I had the crispy chicken dish with rice and a glass of coke for about €12.50 the portions were huge and very tasty! Great value for money, we wished we'd found this place before the end of our trip so that we could have gone again!

This is a bit of an odd recommendation, because when you're in Austria you're totally thinking of Chinese food right? Surprisingly, there are some really great restaurants in Austria and Bavaria, comparable to the foods i grew up eating in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Anyway, if you're looking for a break from traditional Austrian fare, I highly recommend Restaurant Grillhaus Hong Kong in Vienna. The food here is really on point, and my Chinese relatives who live in Vienna love this place. I've recommended it to friends visiting from California and they love it too (they said they went back twice on their one-week trip).I suggest asking the server what's fresh and what they recommend off the menu.
