La Grappa - Menu

I was taken here when I came to work in eating. ate a set menu, so the cost and prices are unknown to me. the food, weeping and espresso were excellent

We were desperate to find a place to eat after a long opera found this one and luckily they took us in. Had a great salad wonderful gnocchi a bottle of wine and a coffee each. Not cheap but totally worth it. Very...attentive service. Will be back!

Absolutely wonderful Italian food perfectly explained by the owner-Maitre d. If you want a variation from the menu, just tell him what you want and it will be done. The home made pasta with shrimp I had done with tomato and garlic and it was...marvelous !

This restaurant exist forever and had rarely changed, so you can find a lot of history. The service is excellent and you will be perfectly treated. The food is very good and high level. The restaurant is walking distance to the main station at the...RWE Tower. The only downside is the very cosy seating due to the limited space.

We ate here with a group of collegues. The service staff were very welcoming and started with a aperitive. But they where in a hurry. so 5 minutes after that they where allready pouring wine for the starter. all the food we ate was wonderfull,...fresh and full of flavour. The wine was also excellent. but the service was to hasty. like they wanted to go home. The decoration is very out dated, it's probably the look they are going for...but I would give the restaurant a make-over. to give it a fresher look. would eat here again if they did that. otherwise there are other restaurants with better atmosphere.

came here with friends on the basis of the travel counsel recommendation, but turned out to be an unpleasant visit. 1. price on quality: at 120 euro they have a sub-average menu: as the second curs the number of gnocchi was not even the same for...ich and my friends. apropos taste, so lala. for the main dish there was almost no garnish (2 mini brokkolis) plus small pieces of meat. that was dessert and was too sweet because of the cookies. if they order something else, they would be surprised that a glass normal champagne costs 20 euro. 2. the toilet was not well maintained and not okay. eating and drinking were definitiw overpriced and not worth visiting.

While I understand that some critics have expressed their surprise or dissatisfaction about the interior decoration of this restaurant (which has apparently not changed since the 1970s), I can only say that the quality of food and service was top nodes of every...a unique time that I dindicate in la grappa. la grappa is still the best Italian restaurant for me not only in eating, but also in the area saitta vini and amici in düsseldorf and villa patrizia in duisburg they are recommended for example, but they are not on the same level. If they want the real la Grappa experience, they should avoid the times of the restaurants carousally when the place is with non-regular guests.

I was recommended this place by a local, but was disappointed. The food IS good, but there are many places in Essen selling Italian food that is just as good or better, for a fraction of the price, and with larger portions. The wine is...pricey but very good. A cheaper house wine just isn't available. The waiter was a bit of a jerk as he said trust me' on the wine choice, then joked' (or was it? that it was only 15 euros a glass. For the rest of the meal I wondered how much it actually was, before getting a more decent 7 euros confirmed on the bill. The decor is more in need of an upgrade than retro, and the service not particularly warm unless you're one of the regulars or large groups spen...

The restaurant serves italian cuisine. The food was very delicious, the decoration somewhat garish. The prices were however very high, we paid more than 90 euros per person, and the quality was good but not something you can not get elsewhere for considerably less money....The service was swift but pushy and arrogant. The patron, when asked if it was possible to have a glass of wine (instead of a bottle), reponded in an contemptuous manner that he does not run a bistro. Afterwards he -sort of- apologised for it, offering the option of getting a glass instead of a bottle. We opted for the bottle version however, and the waiter proceded to open a new bottle of wine (when the first was finished...
