Having two boys with celiac disease, finding an AIC restaurant in Orvieto was a nice surprise. All dishes are also available in a gluten-free version. After the local cold cuts and cheese platters, we had tagliatelle with wild boar sauce, porcini umbricelli and Umbrian sausage in both the normal and gluten-free versions. Simple but good dishes, generous portions. Friendly staff. Food: 4

Poorly trained staff managed poorly. We were not told that the waiting times were so long. To have lunch we had to wait over 40 minutes to only have a measly starter of 3 bruschettas. After another 20 minutes only 2 of the 4 first courses had arrived. We then got up to leave and when we went to pay we discovered that we had to pay 60 euros for having practically eaten nothing. Looking for a restaurant, all packed, we stumbled upon Buca di Bacco by chance. A bit of a wait and we are called to the table. Skeptical start. I was thinking of the usual rip-off given to tourists. Too crowded etc. Instead, to my great surprise, I changed my mind. I ate a truly spectacular carbonara with umbricelli. Compliments to the chefs and the courtesy of the staff. Highly recommended.
