"What a fantastic place to eat! My husband had gnocchi alla sorrentina to start and I had the ribollita Toscana both were great, very tasty. We had filetto di scottona alla griglia Chianina to follow with fagioli and patate al forno and it was all delicious, accompanied by a Rosso di Montalcino which I confess I chose purely because it popped up in one of my favourite books but as it happens tasted absolutely amazing and was well worth it. Come dolce, biscotti e vinsanto because it felt like a very italian thing to do and I loved it. The staff were amazing, so pleasant and helpful, making the dining experience even better. The ambience was warm and cosy, very welcoming. We hope to return to Florence some day and Il Paiolo will be our first ristorante of choice highly recommended!"

Don’t go there. I had the famous Florence steak for 52EU.the steaks on display looked amazing. I got a big bone with enormous amount of fat. Maybe 120g of eatable meat on it. What a disappointment. I am a Tourist and not a return costumer so they made the one off profit. They open the door to go in and once they made the sale I was thin air.

Incredible food, amazing atmosphere, questionable management. Followed us down the street and claimed we didn't pay (we did). Made the situation very uncomfortable and didn't acknowledge THEIR mistake. Ran the card again a second time (we were probably double charged, guess well see on the bank statement tmrw) 10/10 experience. Amazing waiter. 0/10 management and payment handling
