"We sought refuge at the Hiker Cafe in the morning of the Friday 18th of Feb storm after coming down from Hengistbury Head! We were really surprised but really delighted they were open. The staff were really friendly despite the weather conditions. I had the...best egg and bacon bap I have had in years and great coffee. It gave us the boost we needed to continue our walk to Poole. We would definitely return to this welcoming and quality cafe. Thank you."

Fabulous lunch. Fast service. Really friendly atmosphere. Great value for money and varied choice for all ages. Socially distanced inside eating area and plenty of table outside too.

Was very dissapointed to find, that the only cafe at hengistbury head isn't dog friendly, surely it's big enough to section an area off? Missing out on a large amount of custom, as on a chilly day, who wants to sit outside?

After our walk to Hengistbury Head, we stopped by to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. The staff was wonderful, the atmosphere was lovely and clean, and the hot chocolate was served in beautiful china cups. Although it was only warm enough to sit outside on one of the benches, the indoor seating area looked very comfortable. It's a great place to stop after a pleasant walk to the end of the spit and back.

Three of us went to the restaurant in the late afternoon. We all chose falafel with lettuce, tomato, and sweet chilli sauce in toasted wraps, and they were delicious! For dessert, we had homemade raisin flapjacks. The staff was very professional and the tables were cleaned after each customer. The menu was extensive and offered something for everyone after a pleasant walk on a breezy day. We will definitely be returning.

We enjoy taking a stroll through Hengistbury Head and along Mudeford, and this restaurant adds to the charm of the area. For an early lunch, I ordered a tasty sausage, speck, and egg bap with a side of chips, while my friend had a tuna panini. Everything was of excellent quality and well-prepared. The service was friendly and the menu had good options. If we find ourselves in this area again, we will definitely be regulars at this restaurant.

"One of the best steak houses I've ever been to! I highly recommend this restaurant. I made a booking for one last minute and they accommodated me quickly. Unfortunately, when I arrived and was shown to my table it was laid up for two and the waitress even put down a second menu. I chose what I wanted and was seen to quite quickly. Despite ordering a glass of wine, one starter and one main, the waitress then asked if I was waiting for anyone. As a single dinner this repeated assumption that I must be with someone else made me feel quite saddened, especially as I had pre-booked for one. The wine was very good, and the starter came out in a flash. I had ordered whitebait but what I was presented with was surprising small considering it's £8 (roughly) price tag. The fish was good and the batter was done well. The accompanying sauce/dip and salad were both good as well. The main issue was portion size for me, especially as I see whitebait as a cheap option in normal restaurants. I had the rib-eye steak at £30 (roughly) and ordered it blue. Something that is always risky in my experience, but the chef did it to perfection. I think it is the best blue steak I have had in all of the Bournemouth area. The garlic butter was divine and the chips and onion rings were well prepared. The grilled tomatoes were very good, I must say. Over all, the food was absolutely exceptional and the service was absolutely on point! Except for the price and size of the whitebait and the service making me feel a tiny bit awkward for being alone, I would have given 5* across the board. The place is quite pricey, for me alone with just a starter, main and two drinks plus the tip came to £70. However, the steak was so good that I would still recommend it if you are able to afford it.
