Half Moon - Menu

Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, several well-behaved dogs in the bar area at the front. The menu is limited but the food is good and there are a couple of vegetarian options. Real ales on tap, a sizable selection of good whiskies, and quite a few gins on offer.

Been here many times but this time rather a disappointment. Sunday lunch was lukewarm. Graveyard boat cold. Sent both back. Beef was plentiful but sadly a bit tough. Staff great, veg ok but carrots and parsnips burnt. Not sure what went wrong today. Will give it a miss for a few months.

This is my local pub and the atmosphere is always amazing. Ran by a family where andrea knows her customers and we are always greeted by a friendly face. There’s always entertainment on most nights. Wether that’s quiz night, live singers, open mic night. Food is also 10/10 and Available all hours the pub is open. I’d highly recommend popping in!

The Hotel was located along side the river. Beautiful view. The room was comfortable. Had a great night sleep. I can't remember the room number but is was h=just at the top of the stairs. The bathroom was huge and well appointed. Had dinner at the restaurant and the food was tasty an well presented. Thank you for making me welcomed a good night sleep and well feed

Last weekend, my friends and I visited The Moon in Ryton. While the front bar was closed, we were pleasantly surprised by the newly transformed beer garden out back. Eileen and her partner have done a great job turning the old car park into a stylish outdoor seating area, complete with booths, a fire pit, heaters, and a variety of new drinks to enjoy. The crowd now seems to be younger, but still friendly and lively. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely be returning!

Went for Sunday lunch with my mam and my nephew. Took them out for a lovely lunch, my nephew had the veggie lunch, which went down a treat and nothing left on the plate. We both had beef and turkey. Plenty of meat with lovely big Yorkshire puddings. We all had a little bit room for dessert. I had treacle sponge and custard, mam had rhubarb crumble and custard and the happy veggie had chocolate gateau and custard.... All homemade and went down a treat.. May I also say good luck to Ben who is moving to pastures new.. We will return soon..

I went to a restaurant to try to make peace after an incident that happened six weeks ago. Unfortunately, I was met with hostility and ended up being physically attacked by the owner and her staff. I sustained injuries and now have a fractured jaw and concussion. If you are an outsider, be cautious of the owner and her team's behavior. I hope this situation can be resolved before our upcoming match, where my friends and I look forward to watching our team beat Newcastle. You'll still make money from us though, as there will be a large group of us attending. Cheers.

After the lockdown was lifted, we decided to visit our old local restaurant while in the area visiting family. We were relieved to see that the restaurant had managed to survive Covid-19. It was a pleasant surprise to see Eileen from Coronation Street still working behind the bar and some familiar faces still frequenting the place. Although the social distancing measures were not perfect, it didn't affect our overall experience. The restaurant still boasts one of the best smoking shelters in the North East, but the toilets could use some improvement. We plan to return before Christmas, so we look forward to seeing everyone again then.

A lovely friendly pub down in Ryton village. There is plenty of parking on the street in front of the pub and easy access with no steps etc into the bar. It seem a friendly little pub but a little cramped. Don’t sit on the “ comfy seats, instead of the stools “ as all the springs have gone in them and you just sink down. The Sunday lunch was fantastic and plentiful plates are hot but the veg wasn’t) . We both had the beef which was delicious. The staff seemed very friendly and helpful and we were told we could bring our dog in next time if we wish in the bar not restaurant). Apparently they have live music on every Sunday after the lunches are finished . Our only real complaint was the toile...
