Very disappointing. We each had a roast lunch the service was appalling , we had to remind the server twice to bring our menu and the bill. Yorkshire pudding was tasteless and stone cold. The portion size was small and expensive for what it was. Would not recommend

Not been to this pub for a while but wish I had visited it more often. Had evening meal with family and the food and service was very good. So good we returned for lunch the next day! The restaurant is well patronised and serves good local real ale. Reasonable choice on wine list as well.

I have visited the Fox and Hounds numerous times, and this visit was just as wonderful as the rest. I ordered the pie of the day and the flavor was fantastic, the vegetables were cooked perfectly. My friend tried the trio of sausages and also loved it, our plates came back to the kitchen empty. We always enjoy going to the Fox Hounds, the welcome is warm and the service is faultless. The food is really tasty portions generous and they keep the menu small but refreshed with some yummy specials. I had venison loin which was cooked just perfectly and their sausages pies really hit the spot. Cold tap water is put on the table when you arrive and I love that they give you a small jug of gravy with some dishes....I just wish they would give me the recipe for it!

We visited (6 people) for Sunday lunch and I cannot praise this pub enough. Welcoming even though they were very busy, and quite simply the food was amazing. Between us we had pork, lamb, beef and chicken roasts, all beautifully presented with large portions, seasoned tasty vegetables and everyone got a massive Yorkshire pudding and enough crackling for all of us!!! Exactly what you want when you go out for a roast. We were all so full we couldn’t manage a dessert. We will definitely return.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! We enjoyed a warm and inviting atmosphere at this country pub, and the food was amazing. If you're looking for a fantastic meal from a talented chef, this is the place to go. They cater to all family members, from kids to adults, and the staff was incredibly polite and helpful. Don't forget to ask about the specials board - the desserts were delicious and created by a chef with experience in London French restaurants. It's no wonder this place is so popular. A must-try! We have been to the Fox Hounds several times over the years and have never failed to be impressed by the quality of the food preparation and presentation as well as the cleanliness of the entire facility and the welcoming and friendly staff, especially the landlady. For today's lunch we chose the pie of the day (which was as always excellent with fresh, perfectly cooked vegetables) and the gammon steak (perfectly gridled cooked so not fatty and presented with salad fluffy chips). We resisted the significant temptation for the delicious deserts on this occasion, but recommend them also. Keep up the great work, we'll certainly be back!

This pub is our go-to spot for team lunches because it's a charming pub in a convenient location. There were 9 of us, so we pre-ordered our meals. Unfortunately, 2 of our group couldn't make it due to illness, so we made changes to our order via email in the morning without any issues. Everyone enjoyed their meals - good portion sizes, high-quality food, pleasant atmosphere, and friendly staff. The only suggestion we have is regarding the steak ciabatta; we didn't specify how we wanted the meat cooked, and we weren't asked either. One person ate it as it was served rather than speaking up to have it fixed. Despite this, it was a delightful lunch, and we will definitely be returning soon!

Is there a new chef? Having visited the Fox and Hounds on quite a few occasions and always enjoyed super meals, written reviews and recommended the place to numerous friends particularly for the superb Sunday roasts, today was very disappointing. The beef which normally doesn’t need a knife to cut it as it is so tender it falls apart with just a fork was tough and chewy and the roast potatoes which are usually great looked and tasted as if they had been previously cooked and then warmed up!? Even the red cabbage wasn’t as nice as usual. As we were on the early sitting we certainly expected freshly roasted potatoes.
