Excellent staff and food. The background music is unnecessary and intrusive. The lighting is way too bright! Mood lighting for dinner please. Service is excellent.

Nice selection of dishes on the menu and quick service by the staff too. The food was wonderful and the staff were helpful and friendly. Great place for a meal without breaking the bank.

Went to Forbes Arms today with family and friends for our 50th wedding meal and just can't praise them enough for the excellent meal and service .The dining room was so cosy and the food lovely and hot served to us by two lovely young girls with excellent manners.Well done Caroline. Voir le carte

I dined at this restaurant twice for dinner and loved the food both times. There were eight of us and we all had a great experience. For my first visit, I enjoyed lentil soup and fish and chips, and for my second visit, I tried prawn cocktail and stroganoff. The lentil soup was especially delicious.

We have had few meals here recently both lunch and evening and we cant praise this hotel highly enough. Everything is spot on. From the varied menu, the service and presentation cant be faulted in any way, the dining room is especially nice with lovely views to the river Deveron. You will not be disappointed dining here for sure and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. Colin and Jeanette

Unfortunately, the service was not up to par at this restaurant. The staff appeared to lack proper training and professionalism. It would greatly benefit the establishment if they brought in experienced professionals to train their staff. The food was good, but at the high price point, it should be expected. Despite visiting shortly after they opened and hoping for improvements, the service had not gotten any better when we revisited. I suggest seeking advice from competent managers in the northeast of Scotland, even if it comes with a consultancy fee. It would be worth it in the long run. Voir le carte

We popped in one evening for dinner. Little did we know that reservations would have been wise as there is very limited seating. While waiting for our table, we wandered the quaint village of Rothiemay and enjoyed scouting the local cemetery for our ancestors. Upon return to the hotel, we were seated and treated to a delightful evening of wonderfully prepared, fresh food. Our waitress was a sweetheart and when one of us requested a tiny sample of haggis, she returned to the table with a full serving for all to try. Our family met for some food and a chance to cstch up (even celebrate a birthday). The venue on a cold, wet and occasional snow flurries was warm and welcoming. As this was during the week we had anticipated it would be quiet. The bar area had the open fire blazing and this set the tone for the meal. Wonderful smells and a homely atmosphere. We were directed to the dining room and offered refreshments while the remainder of the party were awaited. The menu offered a wide selection and could meet all our needs. Just had a evening meal at The Forbes Arms as it was mid week it was quiet but the meal was perfect in every way. From the minute we walked in the owner was very friendly and welcoming served our drink and showed to our table with the menus. We ordered at our leisure I had soup starter when it came it was piping hot with plenty bread and butter the bowl was brim full and very tasty (Scotch Broth) we then had a steak I had 16oz T Bone and my wife had a 8 Oz Fillet Steak we both asked for medium and when they were served they were spot on with chips,mushrooms,onions,carrots and peas more than ample for two.
