Faros Greek - Carte

My friends and I visited this restaurant recently and we ordered the lemon chicken soup and the chicken gyro. Both dishes were delicious!

The food and service was great. It was my first time here.. Sometimes food is oversalted to hide its lack of flavor..not here. I recommend anyone who wants to taste food properly seasoned and delicious to go here. Voir le carte

I went to this restaurant for lunch and ordered the Eggplant special. There was only one grilled eggplant slice (the best part). It was delicious, but not outstanding. The portion size was too small for the price. The dessert was average. The bread was hard. I have had a lot of Greek food in the past, including many restaurants in Astoria. I think the restaurant is decent. It is clean and has all the typical items on the menu, but they should offer larger portions for the price paid.

The food at this restaurant may be decent, but they are adding a 3.5% surcharge for using a debit or credit card, which is illegal in New Jersey. The cashier claimed it was due to the way the machine was set up, but it is clear that they purposely set it up that way. This lack of transparency is frustrating, especially since the governor has capped card fees at 3%. The surcharge should be clearly displayed outside, inside, on the receipt, and the menu prices should reflect credit card pricing with a cash discount option. I will not be returning to this restaurant. For delicious Greek cuisine with no hidden fees, I recommend trying the Greek spot in Manalapan instead. It's much better.

Very good Greek food in a cozy small restaurant (about 12 tables , located in a strip mall on Applegate Rd. After Taverna Ouzo closed its doors (coincidentally, it was located on the same Applegate Rd. quite a few years ago, there weren 't any authentic Greek restaurants in the area, so we are happy with our new finding. Faros (apparently, owned, managed, and served by people of Greek descent serves fully authentic and deliciously prepared Greek cuisine. The menu is extensive, there is a variety of choices for every taste and like. The food is fresh, the grilled dishes are thoroughly prepared to perfection.
