"updated review with a chat with glen, we went back to give the spinners a second attempt. I have to say it was good. the food was super, fiona’s stroganoff was excellent my lammage still excellent and tasty and the cheesecake is for to die. I have changed my previous 3 stars to a deserved 5 star rating we are regularly re- each in our group had a great meal and the servers were excellent and really helped to make the night good, I can only say that our previous experience was on a varying rare ****. please ignore my previous commentary, such as talking to friends who regularly go, this did not reflect their experience at all. previous reviews brlliant local family run pub and cozy atmosphere with good beer. my lamb was delicious, but my wife stroganoff with rice seemed very overpriced at £17 for a pot bark with rice. we both decided for the apfel and rhabarb crumb and custard, this was very bad, served in a small pot, the fruit was very good, but the crumb topping was uncooked, leaving a terrifying crumb after. Even the excellent but tiny part of the custards masked not the terrible crumb topping. this was our first visit for a meal and after we heard really good things about spinners we have a little disappointed and overall not the feeling that we have worth for our £51. the surly waitress did not add to the atmosphere."

"We recently had a wonderful event at Bibby Farm Scout Camp and were recommended Katy's Kitchen by the Scouts, who clearly know good food when they see it. The main buffet was excellent and great value, but the real highlight was the children's sandwiches, which included jam, chocolate, and cheese spreads (not all in the same sandwich). Many adults tried to sneak a few onto their plates. The chicken kebabs were good, but the chicken nuggets were the real standout. Absolutely delicious! As someone with celiac disease, I had my own tray of food and felt extremely safe and well taken care of."

"visited chorley today for the vatertag, as the darwen filiale was closed again and we really wanted to try smokies after we had seen good reviews. only had tables around 1 watch that shows how popular it is. instead of a main meal my son chose 2 starters afteros and self-morning sauce chicken wing! the young waitress warned him the afteros were great, which impressed me. not only interested in taking her money. young, she didn't lie about the size! another waitress came by when my man and I had finished eating, could see that my 14-year-old fought with the size of the portion and offered him a takeaway tablet for her brilliantly! the suicide chicken came with plastic gloves, they are that hot! he warned them and both of us were amusing and sweating. hubster had the hard bark chicken burger from the specials and ate the go! I had chicken souvlaki, which was perfect for me as I try to watch my weight (I did not eat all the fries . table next to us got a sharing plate and it looked delicious! great eating, beautiful venue and impeccable service. would recommend defo a visit"

"We've just enjoyed yet another meal at the Black Horse at Limbrick. I must say it's got better than ever under the new manager Darren. We arrived late after a busy Sunday and he and his staff ensured we had a hearty feed to round off our day. The cumberland sausage I chose, following the mushroom starter, was delicious and we look forward to returning again and again. Nice pint of Doom Bar too!"

"I called the Italian Cottage after being disappointed at another restaurant where we had a booking on my 40th birthday. It was really short notice. They said that they were quite full really but under the circumstances they would jiggle around some tables and squeeze my party of 11 in. They said to be there in half an hour. We were a bit early but they were ready for us. Whisked us to our table gave us drinks menus etc. Everything that it should be! Some of the other diners knew what was going on too so we chatted with them! Then they sang happy birthday as well when the cake came! We had a great night after all. Cannot thank The Italian Cottage enough! Super food, super service, super atmosphere! Will be our first choice in future"
