Eight On The River - Carte

The room was icecold. Some of the food was okay, the southern burger and the fish, but the breaded scampi and the ribeye was really bad, almost uneatable.

the place is good. the food is good. the service is nice too. wonder why there were no other customers. during dinner i was literally the only table being occupied.

The restaurant and service was excellent. Nice atmosphere and staff were helpful and welcoming. Only small complaint was how quick the courses were served to us but apart from that it was all good Voir le carte

Enjoyed a tasty, well-prepared ribeye steak dinner. It was Saturday evening so the restaurant was full and there was a banquet adjoining the restaurant. But service was good. I liked the haggis starter as well.

There is zero signage to find the restaurant. It is located inside the best western to the right of the front desk. Our server was new and trying hard but mumbled a bit. The food was good quality and the location was superb.

Food good and decor very nice but the service was terrible. It was on a Sunday evening so May have not had regular crew working but the service was awful—cork in the wine —the waiter spilled water on me and had to go find waiter if needed something. Voir le carte

Service was slow and erratic. We went in early for two at 6pm. One other table in use at the time party of 4. Staff seemed to be more concerned with the bus arriving then us. Once food finally arrived it was less then we expected I order the steak med well and got med rare. The fish and chips was tasteless and lacked any character. Overall experience was dull and in interesting.

Very nicely decorated restaurant and a comfortable place for a meal. Food was well presented and very tasty. The waiter we had was very nice and and helpful even with the missing dessert which was sorted out very quickly. The only downside we experienced was the speed of the service was a little too quick for a relaxing meal out. Even though the restaurant wasn’t half full it did feel like we were being rushed. Overall a very nice meal.

From the outset things weren’t good. They had no booking for us, said we shouldn’t have been able to book online. The restaurant was for guest in the hotel only. They did eventually give us a table. Nice table at the window. From then on we were made to feel we were an inconvenience. Especially by the gentleman in charge of the dining room, which was completely empty. Two menus given which weren’t explained, one was set, and no prices. Food taste was good and presentation nice but unfortunately cold. At this point we just wanted to finish and leave. Maybe if you are a guest in the hotel they will put more effort in. Very dissatisfied and will not be rushing back. Voir le carte
