"we have already been in the villager’s crug several times and have never regretted it before! The restaurant is located in a listed building in the museum village volksdorf. the ambiente from centuries is still clearly felt here while it is lovingly restored. the entire staff is very accommodating, can respond to any question and always make a suitable recommendation in the "quale of choice" of eating or drinks. in the sunset we sat in the beautiful and quiet garden in front of the reetdachhaus and started the evening with an apterif. as an appetizer there was the cork tartar and a mango curry suppe with garnel - both highly recommended! As a main dish we chose fish. the wild salmon on avocado potato puree was brilliant - the fish was fresh and juicy and the puree was the crown of the whole! as the second main dish there were thunfish on watermelon - the thunfish was sharply fried and inside raw. perfect quality and extremely tasty. The combination with the watermelon, which was also sharply fried - was a dream (even if you may not imagine it!);- as a dessert, there were various variations - also here a high-end for all senses! creme brulee, sorbets, tart and more were there. also here you can see that the kitchen can afford a lot with regard to desserts!Pricely, the villager is certainly not cheap, but in any case his money is worth! and moreover is much cheaper than some other restaurant in hamburg that belongs to the top class. highly recommended, looking for danger and we come back ;-)"
