Devils Stone Inn - Carte

I visited this restaurant for dinner on a Saturday night while visiting family. The pub food was decent, the Jail Ale on tap was excellent, and the service was great. I highly recommend it.

Totally recommend this lovely place. This is our third visit and will continue to visit when we come to Devon again. Very friendly a lovely pint and food is fantastic at very reasonable prices. Children families or welcome and dogs.

Nice friendly welcoming atmosphere, greatly improved by new landlord and landlady. Attended their quiz night, what a great time we had. Highly recommended to all. Be advised the kitchen is being renovated at the moment so food is limited. Voir le carte

Excellent lunch, great beer. Dog friendly in and out with good sized beer garden. Limited food due to kitchen upgrade but actually the selection was very good. I had an avocado and crispy bacon toasted sandwich while my wife had an (enormous) ploughman’s. Also a good footpath walk back to Grascott Farm holiday cottages.

AMAZING, Go and enjoy for yourself the delicious meals, all cooked to order and the ingredients are fresh, good and full of flavour. I had the hunter’s chicken and it was really moist and tasty. Highly recommended. Another member of our party had the ploughman’s. This was the largest and best ploughman’s he’d had in a long long time. All brilliant. You won’t be disappointed.

Big thanks to Lee, Suzie, and their team for accommodating our group of five hungry travelers at this wonderful pub. Despite being understaffed, they did a fantastic job with a wide selection of delicious and affordable homemade food - especially the pies, which were definitely worth the wait! We absolutely loved the lively atmosphere of this charming inn in Devon. The staff were delightful, and our only regret is that we didn't have the chance to visit again. We stayed here for a family event were made to feel very welcome by the landlady landlord, Susie Lee. Although the kitchen is undergoing a major refurbishment we were still offered snacks drinks Lee's cuppas were always on offer ... thanks Lee. Our room was spotlessly clean well stocked with tea coffee making facilities, good shower facilities a very comfortable bed. Lovely friendly atmosphere we wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend to anyone wanting the same experience as us. We will be returning again, again again. Thank you Susie Lee for making our stay so pleasant.

After being recommended this inn by locals in the village and not wanting to drive home before a local performance of Peter Pan, we decided to give it a try. We were very happy that we did! This place is amazing! It has a unique and cool vibe. The service was extremely friendly and welcoming, especially Tommy! The fire in the bar made it warm and inviting. The beer was excellent, I highly recommend the ale on tap! The food was delicious, plentiful, well-cooked, and perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend the burgers and gammon! The prices were incredibly reasonable and great value, especially in the current economic climate. I even feel the need to mention how clean the bathrooms were!

Staying nearby for a few days over Easter with our dog we looked for a place to partake of a local ale or two, with excellent reviews on social media the Devil’s Stone Inn seemed just the ticket, as it turned out a golden one at that. A warm welcome from the owners (just celebrated their first year in charge) of this lovely old coaching house with large sunny beer garden in the heart of the village of Shebbear is fantastic. Great range of of local ales from Dartmoor and Otter Breweries plus great selection of wines, soft drinks and local Gins. Not looking for lunch we were quickly persuaded into the best ploughman’s we have ever had and even took away a scotch eggs and sausage roll how could... Voir le carte
