"Last week my daughter and son in-law came home to Cromer for a quick visit for the night and they fancied an Indian takeaway meal. We tried to order one from our favourite Indian restaurant in Sheringham but it was closed for the night. So instead we went to Cromer Tandoori for a takeaway. The meal cost £50 and to say we were dissapointed was an understatement. Most of the dishes were mediocre at best, the containers were not full, especially the rice. The issue we had was with the Chicken Korma and the Chicken Tikka Korma. I poured the Chicken Tikka onto the plate and it ended up spilling onto the kitchen surface. Korma is normally a lovely thick and creamy sauce but this was orange coloured water, the same happened with the chicken tikka koma. I tasted it and it tasted of nothing, I really mean no taste, if you count tap water as a taste then you may be happy with these dishes. I called the restaurant and explained what we thought of the meal and was told we will take care of you I offered my name but they said there was no need as I just need to tell them again what I 'd just explained to them on my next visit. I wasn 't happy at all with this, there was no apology and it seemed that this was quite normal for them. I had an issue many years ago with a meal I had from there and their idea of taking care of us was half price off one dish when we decided to give them another try. I believe £3.50 off a ruined meal that cost me £50 is unaceceptable. My issue was more with the way they dealt with my complaint. My daughter then called too see if she could get any sense from them. They said there were only twi members of staff working, it was very busy and they were having problems in the kitchen. She was told the same about taking care of us but would not take our name or any details. I didn 't expect a full refund but I felt a refund of the two dishes that were unedible would have been the least they could have offered. I hope the owners read this and understand they can 't treat customers this way. I think they rely on the fact that most people won 't ask for the offer of being taken care of and just won 't return and rely on holiday makers to make their money. Please contact me and make an effort to put things right, locals deserve better!"

We’re regular visitors to Cromer and this is our favourite restaurant in the town. Food and service are always excellent!

Fantastic food and service. No online menu and photos of menu must be out of date as prices were different. Difference of £10 so be aware if planning ahead. Still very much worth it though

This is the worst curry place I have been. Waited over an hour for our food which was a balti and another curry, which were both really salty. The reviews are right it's awful and they only take cash

Our second visit. Excellent food, lovely main dishes and the naan breads are the best we’ve ever had. Highly recommend, child friendly too. Staff are lovely very attentive. Very clean as well, especially the loos and I always judge based on how clean the loos are and these pass that test.

We all had different dishes but found them very bland. Mine was chicken passander which was in a lumpy tasteless sauce. The other had a speciality chilli chicken which again was tasteless apart from the sudden blow out from a chilli. The next dish was butter chicken which came with a large lump of butter it. The rices and nans were very average to say the least. Will not be returning.

Looking for somewhere to eat last night on our first night of holiday and came across this place. It may need a luck if paint but was clean, as were the loo”s. Food really good, hubby had a speciality hut curry, said was really good and I had a very good chicken rogan josh. Shared a paratha that had sliced potato in it, very nice, Bombay potato’s, onion bhajis that weren’t greasy and a really good mushroom rice. The bill was difficult to read, but we had an idea if cost and it met that. Only takes cash and cheques which is very unusual today, but so good we are going back before we head home next weekend . If you are use to having your curry made with a jar sauce from the supermarket and enjoy it....dont bother with this restaurant. The Cromer Tandoori is by far the most authentic tasty Indian food we have eaten anywhere in the UK. We had several dishes...the simple chicken balti through to lamb dansi and the flavours were sublime. The mushroom rice actually had mushrooms too!! The service was provided by a very lovely man called Sali (apologies if I spelt his name wrong). He was very humble and attentive. Many review comments concentrate on the decor of the restaurant and, yes we would agree to a point that it is somewhat dated, however ...if you want a delicious Indian meal with friendly cus...

Let's get the bad out of the way first: It looks extraordinarily dated probably hasn't see a coat of paint since Charles married Di. It's kinda grubby, with grease spots on the paintwork, courtesy of over excited punters and shashliks a bubblin'. The service can be a little offhand and bored. The place is desperately in need of a facelift. The toilets are very beige and dated. Most annoyingly: they accept only cash. Now the good: the food is great. I mean: when you look at the place, it's fair to say your expectations hit the floor. But we have eaten here several times recently and the CURRIES are REALLY GOOD. I've read some reviews where people are complaining about the food. I would imagin...
