Craven Arms Cruck Barn

We had a wonderful walk around Bolton Abbey yesterday, came to the Craven Arms for a late lunch, early tea. Fabulous quirky pub, outstanding views from the beer garden, lovely staff and food was fantastic too.

This pub is fantastic and located in a prime spot. With cozy log fires, a selection of great beers, and a generous food menu, it’s pure bliss! Price per person: £50–60. Food: 5/5. Service: 5/5. Atmosphere: 5/5.

I took my 2 friends from out of Yorkshire for lunch. We were made to feel SO welcome on a very rainy day. The fire was warm and roaring. The food was just what we needed very tasty and very hearty. Great beers/cider. We had a lovely time and left very reluctantly. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A unique characterful place. Dining here is like stepping back in time. The food and service is first class. A welcome change from the usual pub grub. We were staying at a campsite close by took a walk hoping to get Sunday lunch, sadly they were fully booked, so we booked a table for tea. Loved everything about this pub, the original features, the fact it was dog friendly, the staff were friendly and attentive. We were seated in the cruck barn and what an amazing space it was. We both had a burger for our mains and cheesecake for dessert, and can honestly say it's the best food we've had! The quality and taste of the food was superb highly recommend.

Was the venue for a wedding lunch/evening, the staff here are wonderful as are the locals, even got a lift home from one of them as we struggled to get a taxi! Speaks volumes of the hospitality of locals. Lovely venue, the afternoon meal was stunning, could have ate 50 of those giant Yorkshire puddings. The downsides being the cheesecake in my eyes, too fancy for what could be a wonderfully tasty dessert with less effort put in. Its cheesecake after all. The pints were very flat coming up to the end of the night, looked like glasses of apple juice, not great, but can imagine it’s because of the volume they were being bought for such a large party. I will be back!

We arrived for a couple of pints as part of our planned circular walk and were pleased to find that this place lived up to its positive reviews. It was a beautiful Friday afternoon; not too crowded, though it can get quite busy on weekends, so making a reservation is advisable. We weren't there to try the food this time, so I can't comment on that, but from what we observed, the dishes being served looked and smelled fantastic. What I can say is that the beer was excellently maintained, and there was a great variety of real ales available on draft, all enjoyed next to a lovely fireplace that created a cozy atmosphere. We stayed at mason's campsite this weekend and visited the pub fri sat and Sunday.. we had an absolutely amazing time every time we where in their.. Friday we got chatting to many locals and they made us feel so welcome and chatted away to us.. Saturday we met up with friends and took them in with us and again we where made to feel welcome and the Melbec was delicious Sunday we went for a meal we both had steak and ale pie which was too die for and would defo recommend it to anyone.. we also tried some of the whiskey and oh my god they where all so good.. we also got chatting to locals who had been playing cricket all day and came to the pub in the evening they where all so much fun and mad...
