Lovely friendly staff, immaculate quaint cafe and delicious food. Discovered whilst geocaching. Highly recommend this lovely cafe. Outside seating for dog owners.

We came in to this very nice air conditioned tea room on a boiling hot day for lunch. I had a delicious homemade corned beef pie followed by a good sized slice of lemon curd filled meringue roulade. The quality was excellent.

We were searching for a place to have lunch and were fortunate to stumble upon this hidden gem. The staff provided a warm welcome, the menu offered a variety of options, the portion sizes were generous, and the food was mouth-watering. I would highly recommend this place! Voir le carte

Just had a really lovely, tasty roast dinner here. It was so good and so were the desserts as well. So pleased we had booked because gets busy. We liked it so much we have booked to go back on Tuesday lunchtime as well. Really nice, helpful and friendly staff too. THANK YOU

During our stay at Friar Cote Farm, we were recommended to visit this tea room nearby. We were pleased to find that the food was fantastic and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. The town is also quite charming, with lovely walks along the river behind it.

We didn't originally intend to dine at this restaurant, but after being disappointed elsewhere, we decided to stop by without knowing much about it. We were pleasantly surprised by the fresh and flavorful food options on the menu, as well as the delicious desserts on display. The staff was friendly, and the cafe was clean and well-maintained. We arrived at the restaurant at 2:20 on Sunday afternoon. Despite being very busy, the atmosphere was calm. We were greeted and seated promptly. We ordered the Roast Beef dinner and the Roast Leg of Lamb dinner, both served with potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, vegetables, and gravy. We also enjoyed a pot of tea for two and finished with delicious trifle and pavlova desserts, all for just £31! The food was impeccable and the service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be returning the next time we are in the area.

We had lunch at this restaurant on Tuesday as we were staying in the village for a short break holiday. We found out on Monday afternoon that the village pub no longer serves food, so by Tuesday lunchtime, we were very hungry! The service at the Country tea room was excellent, and the food was delicious with a simple homemade style that was filling. The 3-course OAP menu for two (homemade soup, steak pie with vegetables, and jam roly-poly with custard) was great value at £22 including tea for two. We would definitely return. Just be aware that they close in the mid-afternoon and there are currently no other places open in the village for a hot meal.

A wonderful hidden gem of a restaurant that is open every day between 10 3pm. We were staying in the village for a week, so tried this place 3 times each time we took the food away to enjoy at the cottage we had hired as we had dogs. Even though one of our family was vegetarian, there was plenty of choice for all four of us each time. Our first meal was Sweet Potato Chickpea Curry, which came with Rice and a small Nan Bread each. Lovely tasty meal with plenty of flavours. We ordered the Sunday Beef Roast as well as a Vegetarian Roast for the following day, and the lady offered to deliver it to our cottage.
