"The service at this restaurant was excellent. I witnessed a customer who couldn't decide on their order being offered a sample to help them choose. I decided to order two meals - one with oxtail and the other with pepper steak. Each meal came with rice, salad, and macaroni and cheese. I also ordered a side of chicken with macaroni and cheese, along with a Guinness punch to drink. The food was delicious as always, cooked perfectly with amazing flavor in every bite. The portions were generous, providing good value for the price. I couldn't finish my meal and was able to reheat and enjoy the leftovers the next day. The restaurant followed social distancing and sanitizing procedures, however, the only downside was that the takeaway boxes were made of styrofoam which melted a bit from the heat of the food. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely visit again."

So good to see Comies open again, even better than before. Such a friendly place, the Saltfish is out of this world. I wish I knew how to cook like this.

Very good and interesting food. The staff were very good and friendly. Quite a few of things on the menu and wine list out of stock. The Jerk chicken was very good. Worth a visit. Voir le carte

Well not really first time but street food at carnival doesn't even come close, so we can ignore that. Besides, Bob Marley is better on the digestion than steel bands competing against each other. What a delight! The delicious food is also a work of...art. Friendly service and all at a reasonable price. Thank you all. PS loved the Guinness at

This restaurant offers delicious, authentic dishes with generous portions. The service is warm and welcoming - they even opened up early for us when we arrived. The ackee and saltfish were amazing, with a perfect blend of spice and flavor. The jerk chicken was excellent and the noodles were to die for. The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, and inviting. Highly recommend!

"I've been going to Oxford for 3 years now and in that time to be frank struggled to find a decent go to restaurant. I can now say with delight i've found my destination. I present SPICED ROOTS a little caribbean culinary gem. The fresh perfectly cooked food is absolutely delicious and gives off that home cooked by mummy vibe and is beautifully presented. The chilli and garlic prawns had my eyes closed Mark Weins style (if you know you know) so juicy with an incredible depth of flavour, the Trini doubles not only were seasoned to perfection they left you wanting more and the Jerk chicken spring rolls were an absolute triumph. For mains we had the ackee and callaloo Jerk Tempah (vegetarian) and the Jerk chicken. Both came with rice peas, plaintain and salad. Not only were the portions huge the flavours of both dishes were just mind blowingly delicious. Then we embarked on dessert and had the beautiful spiced rum cake and a selection of 3 home made ice creams namely Coconut, Guinness and the old Caribbean favourite Rum and Raisin, all recommended by the owner. It's at this point I feel compelled to speak about the rum raisin ice cream. I've eaten this ice cream on numerous occasions at numerous locations in Jamaica over my many years and I tell you no word of a lie this was hands down the best rum and raisin ice cream I've ever tasted, it literally left us speechless. So to summarise, this place has great food, great music, great service and a wonderfully charming owner who's totally invested in serving great, incredibly tasty, authentic Caribbean food clearly prepared with love. What more could you ask for. Fair to say it was meant to be. Uncle Jay."
