"We certainly won’t be eating here again. We ordered 4nr cooked breakfast of varies sizes with with varioys hot/cold drinks. Firstly, they ran out of mushrooms with no alternative to offer or reduction of cost. The breakfast then took a hefty 45 minutes to be served and to add insult to injury, when we decided or to stay for a further cup of tea we were told that we weren’t allowed to share a pot of tea for 2 i.e. one pot of earl grey one pot of English tea for four people ??!? I was astounded we were all astounded after spending over £40 here and willing to stay and spend more. It all started off very nice and all and very sour so we will not be eating here again with friends, family or otherwise."

The restaurant is typically busy, and during peak times it can be very loud inside. However, the service and food are consistently excellent.

Had a superb breakfast today. Egg, bacon, sausages, fried tomato and toast and marmalade. Beautifully cooked and served quickly. Thank you. Another lovely meal from you.

Well, what can I say! Today I went with my dad and my son, we all had fish and chips, by golly they were the BEST we've EVER had! Honestly, no dry fish here! Beautiful light crispy batter. Exceptional! We will be back! Voir le carte

We had an excellent lunch on a wet and windy day whilst viewing the wonderful art works around the walls of the cafe. My friend bought a beautiful mesmerising print. Look forward to warmer days, when we can sit outside overlooking the gardens, beach to the sea.

The restaurant always offers delicious food and excellent service, with friendly staff. However, the noise level inside can be quite high at times due to the chatter. In addition, there is only one shared male/female toilet, so be prepared to wait in line if needed. Voir le carte

The Cliff Top Cafe offers a perfect spot for breakfast with a view of the sea. The sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, toast, and marmalade were all outstanding and tasted like they were locally sourced. Unlike many places, the breakfast here comes on a large plate. It may be busy and require a wait, but the quality of the food makes it worth it.

I was very impressed by the building let alone the food etc… Cliff top cafe, i expected a typical seaside town cafe but was pleasantly surprised to find a magnificent building, overlooking the gardens, with indoor and outdoor seating. The service was excellent, we ordered fish and chips and drinks from the counter. The drinks arrived very quickly followed swiftly by our meals. The coffee was great but the fish and chips were outstanding (not sure if I’ve ever had better)! Eagerly consumed whilst looking at the sea views. What a splendid day we had. This is definitely worth many more visits!

"This wasn’t our first visit (the previous occasion was more positive than this) but this was really quite poor. Problem after problem, service was poor and just not very welcoming. Firstly, drinks weren’t available issues with draft, but then bottles weren’t available either. So there was a very limited selection of drinks on offer and the staff weren’t proactive in advising what was available. So it was request and receive a no! Secondly, the food was poor. The starters were shocking. Really quite bad. There was a bit of redemption from some of the mains, but we elected to not proceed with anything else as it wasn’t great. We had to wait ages for drinks and foods to arrive despite the fact that the restaurant was practically empty and many staff present. Frequently there were 3 staff at the back of the room standing about chatting, but they weren’t attentive to our needs. They didn’t check around the room to see if guests required additional drinks or require plates clearing. They didn’t check to see how the food was and when we complained regarding a starter they simply didn’t know how to handle it. When the draft beer came back on there was no proactive behaviour in returning to the table and letting us know so that more drinks could be ordered. Drinks were poured in wrong glasses, plates were cleared whilst people were still eating and then not cleared when they needed to be! Simply put the staff working had no idea on what table service should be perhaps they had received no training which is a major failing when the restaurant is part of a hotel. It was not welcoming. The restaurant was freezing cold. The service was really very poor and the food disappointing. They also don’t take dogs which in Aldeburgh is a bit weird. There is plenty of space and the tables are large so they would not be in the way. We won’t be returning."
