"Great place for a bite to eat, not greatly expensive but worth every penny for the quality of food put out! The blaggis bon-bons are highly recommend as a starter.Staff are great, friendly and approachable folks. No weird request is too much, very happy to help.Very open and clean decor with views right onto the esk, sitting in the main room a feature is made of a giant bookcase and open beams right to the ceiling giving the papermill a light and airy feeling. I'd be happy just to chill here with a book and some more of the lovely latte.In total less than 50 squid for a very pleasant afternoon of two starters, a main and a pudding plus drinks. Great value in these hard times.Th is is also a dig friendly place where pooches of all sizes can be accommodated and loved on by everyone!Thanks for lovely food and a great atmosphere!"

"The staff were really friendly, welcoming accomodating upon arrival during our meal, top service. The meals were deeelicious. I had fish pie, didnt look much but was filled full with chunks of fish was an ample helping. The small fish chips was a good helping with the best chunky chips we'd been looking for, and the sea bass was perfectly cooked too. The deserts are not to be bypassed, presentation was superb the flavours were equally as appealling. Although a wee bit pricey, I wouldn't be worried about recommending this place to eat."

"After hanging up the phone after booking here I had a good feeling about the service from the off due to the demeanour of the lovely young man Kyle who took my call. He asked if I had a table preference, any allergies and if there was anything else he could help me with regarding my booking. I only had to say my name, date and time of booking once too. Quite rare these days when booking over the phone. I wasn’t wrong, the service was amazing from the moment we stepped inside. We didn’t have to grab anyone’s attention and they weren’t overly hovering. As an ex chef I was blown away with the price, size and quality of the food. It really was so unexpected. We ordered the trio of desserts as we couldn’t decide what to go for and boy they were good. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say it was the best dessert I’ve had in a restaurant for over 3 years!!! We had a bottle of red wine. A pint, an espresso martini, garlic flat bread, hunters chicken, steak pie and the trio of desserts and our total bill was £80. I was so impressed. I can’t wait to go back."

"Had a great time last night. The waiter looked kinda nervous (possibly new) but he gave great service and kept our drinks full and tended to anything we needed. The food was fantastic (as the first time) and yes, it can be slightly pricey, but you get what you pay for. The savoury food was delicious, the meat was fantastically tender and flavoursome, and the rice was absolutely perfectly cooked! Oh and I’ve never had a naan like that before! My only gripe, which is small in the grand scheme of things, was dessert. £5 for a dessert in this quality of restaurant is as expected, however the tiramisu and my wife’s cheesecake were both mostly frozen, and had slight freezer burn. The flavours were delicious but non-frozen would have been ideal. I do regret that I didn’t bring my wallet, as I only use card these days. I felt the staff deserved a tip and I wasn’t able to provide one. But thank you for the fantastic evening!"
